That 15-16 bucks an hour works out to about 15-16 grand a year. Dont try and skew the numbers.
My point was not to blame him. I was simply pointing out that the politcal powers that be, the ceo's, and the majority of the pro-life movement (which I happen to agree with) are causing the economic...
Whats ironic is that women tend to get abortions primarily for financial reasons. Brian Bedford employs a large number of women (flight attendants) at pay rates below the poverty line. I wonder how many of those 4000/day were his own employees. He certainly talks the talk.
RAH loses all its code shares after BB decides flying on Sundays is a sin and orders all flights cancelled.
TSA and Piedmont attempt to recover the RAH flying but are unable to get the FAA to waive the commercial pilot certificate requirement and cannot fill the seats.
ALPA at pinnicle is...
The solution to the dilema you proposed is simple. You take the owner of the charter company, regional airline or freight company and you tell them if someone trains and bails tough. I guarantee if you paid more people wouldnt do that. This is a career position not a job we're working to get...
Mrpink I agree with everything you say except that it is acceptable for a company to have training contracts in the first place. It is completely unreasonable and should be outlawed. Take an objective look at the industry, there are a lot of pilots and cfi's at the bottom making almost...
Mrpink I understand your point and it is a good one. However personal integrity also needs to be maintained by a company not just its employees. When they first start you out there they are going to tell you its a great place to work, great maintenance, great management, etc. but after you...
Mrpink if you worked at one of these worthless excuses for a freight company, and forced to fly when you could likely lose your liscense or you could slither your way out of a contract what would you do?
If you remind management of all the illegal things they have had you do, plus threaten to get the faa and a lawyer involved they will let you out of the contract. fwiw. Good luck
Why not just shut down both engines? That way you would save double the fuel. Or you could always try and shoot the approach at full power. That way you'd probobly blow the fog out and lift the field above minimums and land safely.
The guaranteed interview is all bs anyway. Its just a way for them to get their cfi's and students not to complain about all the crap management spits out. Had a buddy who completed his "time requirements" for the guaranteed interview and they said ok go ahead and apply. The entire system is...
I could care less if this guy is black, white, brown, yellow, or red. I could care less if he is muslim, hindu, jewish, christian or any other religion. i could care less how many times a day he feels the need to pray or who to pray to. If he raised his glass when the planes hit the towers...
I think the part of the reason is the average pilot is lied to about their career outlook. These flight schools will literaly say anything to get money out of them. Even if someone starts very young they will likely not make a major until at least there thirties and by then they want to settle...
Ninja,
I first off agree with you that capt sucks. But if I am reading this correctly you stopped flying even though you really enjoyed it. I would think that you could get your Capt loan in deferment for a while until your funds increase. You may also be able to get your monthly expenses...
Everyone will be hiring next year, it is part of the 2007 hiring boom due to the growing worldwide pilot shortage. Maximum change rate will be around June 14th, but will not peak until around September of 2009
