You do realize less than a 1/4 have transitioned and shortly, of the remaining 3/4,more than half will wait to be forced off the "rat ship" via inverse seniority. Meanwhile there is a thread on our internal forum discussing leaving for recalls or applying to other carriers when they start hiring. I don't think many will be tripping over themselves, most will be forced to walk the plank.

Sincerely not a half bad idea if you're not into the SWA culture- there will be opportunities elsewhere that have pretty great futures.
(Widebody capt by 2020-2022, anyone)

Not me Bubba.

The next guy that offers to pay for my coffee in Starbucks is GONNA WEAR IT, BAY-BEE!!!

:D :D :D

I try to get in line by the AT guys so they will buy mine!!

It has not worked yet, but I am still trying. Common' you cheep trannies, pony up!!!

Widebody at SWA? Before 2025? Nope.

Reread my man

Saying the pilots senior to me ought to consider legacies- it might be the first smart time in a decade to make the move
Junior guys too

Don't be unhappy if you got choices for Christ's sake-

Over under on Trannies that leave Ill put at 25. It's another tranny cool aid shooter they pass around in ground school. Here are some others:
1. SWA is blown away by the 717
2. Our Foqua data blows SWA away
3. They know we are really upset so they are going to throw us a "bone"
4. If we get past this piece of the DRC, SWAPA will cave
5. We make 90% of the SWA profit

Those are just a couple gems from my last few ground schools. They eat it up over here. What's even funnier is they don't think they are drinking the cool aid!

The trannies will leave comes in this format "all kinds of guys are jumping ship because they are pissed at how this went down"... Translation: one guy from CLT went to USAir and two guys took their AA recall.

The reality of it is that starting over is a BITCH! If you are young and unencumbered leaving is a good option if the legacy of choice offers you a job. Otherwise you are stuck. Make the best of it. Lots of people venting and saying they are leaving. Time will tell how many make the leap. The legacy hiring is just getting started and the most suitable of all (DAL) hasn't opened the window yet. I guess we will see how many are serious about leaving.

You left out one small reality. These jobs are hard to get. A major doesn't "offer you a job". First you have to get past the algorithm that selects resumes. Big time airlines look at log books, college degrees, mental testing, medical testing, then a panel of people can decide its blue tie day and you wore red. The reason most of us "picked AirTran" is because they were the only ones hiring or it was the job we could get. Here is another secret everyone was looking for the door before SWA bought us. Now it is much harder to come up with a reason to leave.

Anyone honest with themselves knows AirTran is a fine enough airline but it isn't in the same sport as Delta, SWA, or bankrupt AA. Our Pre SWA contract would make a regional captain puke. What was it 10 days off and all the ready reserve you can eat. $75 an hour 12 year FO. Our five year fight contract has 12 days off or 14 on a low month. SWA looked at our refugee camp and gave us 15 off because beating children is only fun until your up by 50 runs.

So now you want to take your 717 time to Delta... Pull out a calculator. Someone says Delta is hiring 400 this year... Sure, whatever, but we will use that number.
200ish will be military
100ish will be some sort of flow
That leaves 100 spots.
Hope that resume is up to speed because the guys at the regionals have multiple types, college degrees, 10,000 PIC turbine, young and cool aid friendly, check airmen, etc.
Oh and PNCL negotiated an interview for there pilots.

Don't get me wrong I hope every tranny who applies gets hired. I am so sick of hearing these ass clowns say some version of "I'll just got to Delta" or "If I were junior I would just go to Delta"

I agree with one thing - life at the bottom here was pretty bad, especially if you were on reserve, or on the old FO pay scale, it was almost like working at a different airline than it was for lineholder Captains. For lineholder Captains, it was pretty good, which is why the junior folks got most of the improvement in the new contract. . . .

The disparity between the two is probably also why the MEC did not put out SIA1 for a vote- the junior half of the seniority list would have viewed anything as an improvement, and voted accordingly.
