The stress comes from dealing with China airspace issues and FOs who don't speak English and have limited flight time.
But China is where the money is for right now, and the foreseeable future.
Xjt pilots did hurt the company trying to get all they could outta Jim ream back a few years ago and look at where they are now.
You see it as "low expectations" when we have more MOUs and LOAs showing we have the ability to work with the management.

I don't know, another point of view is that you have so many MOUs and LOAs because your contract has needed so much fixing. Did you guys MOU the ability to be reassigned via ACARS?
Transfer!
And another POV is that your contract was sooo great that you priced yourself out of a job...... almost but someone came in at the last minute to rescue you?

The express jet pilot contract is a very small part of doing buisness, you guys need to look up Macro Economics some day. This sounds just like the argument that the United pilots contract put them in trouble, if that were true after two bankruptcies that gutted that contract the airline should have been immediately thriving which clearly did not happen. Bad management will always tell you it is because your contract is to blame and pilots always believe it. We truly are our own worst enemies.
