Time to bid back to 200 FO. I hope the schedules are as good as they say compared to the 900.

apparently some of places people are going are prone to hire pilots with little or no PIC Turbine-such as JetBlue. A former Mesaba guy even has said that the chief has said that they are hiring pilots with no PIC. Bad news for Mesaba/Pinnacle Jr captains, good news for the most, highly, so sad should have the world at their feet Pinnacle FO's...who seem to think they were screwed the most. get over it, there is talk that even the majors will skip over pilots with too much PIC-Fed EX even published that they do not want to hire pilots with more than like 3500 hours PIC.
I heard it from a former recruiter, that anything higher than 3-4k TPIC time makes an individual have old habits that die hard. Something about training them to fit our mold was harder and more difficult. The ideal candidate for them has 1000-2500 TPIC time. In fact, up until recently, the majority of legacy newhires in the 2004-2007 time all fit that mold. Several thousand total time, but only 500-2500TPIC.

As for JetBlue, sorry, you'll get no sympathy from me when they take FOs. I know one JetBlue pilot, and I'm sure he's one of many, who is/are currently 1-4 years at JetBlue. My friend there is 32. He has mentioned that because he still has 30+ years left in his career, he HAS to try and get on with Delta, American, Fedex, or UPS. Now because he was already a RJ Captain and had about 2000TPIC, he will be qualified for all those jobs mentioned. But look at it from JetBlue's point of view. They don't want you here to just use them to get a type rating and bail out to a legacy. Certainly, in that regards, at least hiring a FO ensures that the FO is there to stick around at JetBlue. They don't have a 1000TPIC, and will not be bailing out to SWA, Fedex, or other legacies. Even though I'm in my 20s, if I get hired at Jetblue, I'd be just fine with that. Return me to the east coast and keep me there. I'd be content without wanting to move up. But, you have many guys at JetBlue who want to (and some already have) jump to Delta or other legacies. If I was a hiring manager at JetBlue, to ensure retention, I'd give preference to FOs with 3000-6000 total time and for TPIC time, 0 to less than 1000.

Ask yourself. If you were a JetBlue recruiter/HR person, wouldn't you do the same? I know I would!

Or you could make the airline a place that people would want to make a career. I guess that's just another way of thinking though.

I believe JetBlue's compensation/benefit package is amongst the highest of any major/legacy carriers for the Airbus A320 family series. Add the fact that they don't lose 1.95% like the ALPA carriers do, so for those that make $150,000 then that is another savings of another 3 grand. If you make a 100k, then you save almost 2 grand. etc. etc.

You don't have to convince me. My app is in. I have over 1k PIC though. o_O

Yeah! We know! You have said that, many, many, many times.

Continuing to say it does nothing, and contributes nothing. It is a waste of bandwidth and time. Most of us are just SICK and tired of hearing about it.

If you have something new and useful to say, by all means. Otherwise...

Are you working at Pinnacle again? Otherwise......

Good luck trying to shut me up internet tough guy. It is to bad the truth hurts your fragile ego, but you are gonna hear it from me just the same.

There is a point to be made in the statement of "mind your own business".

Wow.... I'm not trying to shut you up. I'm trying to get you to MOVE ON. My ego has nothing to do with it. I'm simply pointing out that we have enough problems at this airline as it is. We don't need people that don't even work here anymore spouting opinions about policies/news that have no affect on them and intentionally "stirring the pot".

It baffles me how much you care about Pinnacle AFTER the fact. When I finally get out of here, the last thing I want to hear about or engage in conversation about is Pinnacle Airlines EVER again!!!!
