Basically that seat locks go away, classes don't have to start for up to 9 months, we get some things that we want.... The company gets to save about $5M.
From Feb 18 to Sept 22 for concessions to pass. 7 months. Not bad. My bet was at 6 months.

higney, are you saying that the quota's are going away?

Completely un-related. An LOA is a letter of agreement between the union and airline management, as allowed by the JCBA, and becomes amended to the JCBA, our pilot contract. Quotas were not installed by management or pilots, it was installed by Bloch's binding arbitration award. We do not have a LOA from Bloch, although we are waiting to hear about clarification regarding the Saab fences.

Anybody heard what the pilots get out of the LOA?

A bunch of CA's get to keep seats, and many will be getting bypass pay instead of having to go through training. The training pipeline gets to be expanded out to almost be like a "Advanced Entitlement" bid. Pilots don't get yanked around as much, and the company keeps the pilots flying and pays more $$ in hourly costs, without the training costs and bottlenecks.

At least that's how it reads to me.

Is the union planning on sending an email out to the pilot group about this LOA?

I'm sure they will. Signatures are still being done. I wouldn't be surprised if 11-09 isn't out prior to tomorrow. My "sources" say it's going to make 11-08 look like child's play.

In what sense? Net CAs negative or positive? We got a whole lotta Saab Captains/FOs to find new jobs for. Jet jobs, I mean.

people always get upset when the company says something is going to come out on a certain day and then it doesnt come out. I am not one that generally gets upset by this because i expect it. Having said that, I wish the company would not say "we are putting something out on this day" because it usually doesnt work out and then people get upset

I am simply talking about number of pilots involved. It could be good or bad, just a huge number of position movements are known.

Well, I could have told you that. -21 CA MEM. -29 CA LGA. -40 or so MSP. -35 or so DTW. Repeat roughly same numbers for FOs. That is a "huge number of position movements known."

So does this mean our staffing requirement, from now until end of May 2012 only needs 83 more Captains, net?

Is this correct?

Well, the million dollar question is... will this save the Pinnacle downgrades?

Inquiring minds want to know! (Er well, at least 10 minds.)

It will depend on where the more senior displaced guys choose to go. Looks like 40 extra positions in the -200 for DTW and 32 in JFK. If you were displaced from DTW, you'd better not have 40 displaced guys senior to you that want that seat. Looks like there is a wide range of seniority occupying the left seat of the Saab. This should be interesting.

with the q 400 upgrades, should this fill the colgan quota as well, paving the way for everyone to upgrade when the 60 new ones get here over the next two years!

I hear PNCL displaced pilots out of MSP not too long ago. Anyone roughly know the numbers on those? CA & FO. Thanks.
