From one of the last interview sessions the overwhelming majority of pilots were either corporate or regional. No furloughed or mil pilots. Thats not to say the next day was the same. They try to interview from a diverse pool so unlike other carriers who may interview a mil first jetblue is looking for a little diversity.

Back to the app. block #6 titled "Qualifications" is supposed to have drop downs where you rate your ability at various tasks. The thing is, NOTHING is dropping down. Tried safari, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, AND IE and it wont get anything to come down. It's causing my "profile overview" to not show a green check mark since I can't fill out that section.

Anybody have the same issue?

Thanks

Guess you're just good at NOTHING. J/K. I don't think that will make or break you.

yeah I could not get the drop down to work either. I hope its not an issue. Oh and on the job listing it has a requirement for three letters from people who can attest to ones ability to fly. hard copies at interview are required. Where are those suppose to go?

You only bring them to the interview, as far as I can remember.

Not sure either..

I had three non-Jetblue guys write letters.. I included them in the attachments section of the application.

Along with a couple nicely written internal recs. that went in through JB's system.. I plan on getting those as hard copies and maybe using 1 from a non-JB employee....

Just need the interview to happen!!

GUY'S AND GAL'S RELAX THEY WILL CALL. If your lucky enough to get called relax the job is your's. Remember all the majors will be hiring in the next year or two. J.B. is a good place to work, but not the only place to work. It will happen for the majority of you, so chill out and wait for your call.

Trust me it will happen over time

hehe, I just un-twisted my panties:beer:

I hear ya, and totally know that a job is a job etc... Being furloughed from a good place, and working a dead end flying job. (pays the bills but can't imagine doing it for a career).

For various reasons that I won't bore anyone with, JB had always been my #1.. Honestly, as crazy as it may sound. It works perfectly with my lifestyle (location, family, commute etc) Given my age and present experience, this is definitely my best shot at it since probably 2006.

I've re-checked my app. for errors 100 times, proof read everything multiple times. Provided diplomas, recs., resume/cover letters.. etc... Everything on my app. is as accurate and as good as I can possibly do.
Now it's time to sit back and hope for the best.

Thanks everyone for your input...

(sigh) this makes me feel old. :-(

Sorry =) vintage 9/11 guy here...atleast I'm not in the gelled hair backpack group yet.....I atleast was hired by my first airline pre-9/11..

If it makes ya feel any better, Delta was my goal until JB came around. Changed my tune after experiencing Delta vs. JB service as a paying passenger...

But alas, no rememberance of Pan Am or Eastern here... Although I think my first airline ride was on Eastern back in the late 70's?? Only thing I remember about P.A. was the Lockerbie, Scotland bombing.

It is what it is.. ya gotta be born sometime..Not my fault

It's ok. I'm jealous. Just wish I was about 10 or 15 years younger coming into the next upturn.

Wouldn't be the upturn I've been hearing about ever since I started flight school, would it?

I pretty much suck at everything, especially spelling. As far as "make or break", if those questions aren't answered, the app is incomplete and can't be submitted in the "Candidate Profile", so that the flight times can be put in. See the issue?

This was my first time applying to JetBlue. When the window closes, does the first officer job opening disappear from the website? Does the window close on September 10th at 2359 Eastern?

Oh, sorry. I did my app on my IPad 2.

Typically yes.

Does anyone know when the interviews are going to take place? How long of a lead time do they give you to call and beg your chief pilot for time off?

Interviews are going on right now. Typically you are given a week to a month but many times someone cancels so they try to fill the slot.

I am no expert, but something seems slightly off. JetBlue seems to be recruiting, interviewing and hiring very aggressively. Yet some guys are complaining about the bid divisors being low and I don't think the next deliveries are until next year.

It "seems" like they are getting ahead of themselves. I am not implying they are making a mistake, I am wondering if there is something that is not public yet in the plans.

But, I will be the first to admit that I could be completely wrong. Either way, hiring is good.

Very good question!!!! Why are we ramping up so quickly while the rest of the carriers are still movings at a snails pace to recall, hire etc???

man-I just checked my application-changed some wording to better reflect me and my goals in my cover letter. But one would think that almost 5500 total time, and almost 1300 PIC-BA from a big ten school and 14 years in the army would make it so I would hear something.

The bid divisors are down because its september and october. Down about 200 hours from july in my base/equipment. Pretty normal pull down for every airline this time of year.

Plane deliveries continue as well. http://phx.corporate-ir.net/External.File?item=UGFyZW50SUQ9MTAxMTcyfENoaWxkSUQ9LTF8VHlwZT0z&t=1

2 E190's scheduled for the 3rd quarter.
1 A320 and 1 E190 scheduled for the 4th quarter.

Maybe, but the 3rd quarter is 2/3 over. Those guys should already be on the line for 3rd quarter delivery. Still seems like more recruiting, interviewing, hiring and new hire classes than what that delivery schedule would explain. Maybe not though.

what about next year? If they hire now it would be for next year I should think

This is probably a dumb question (seeing that I didn't attend a Big 10 school) but, does the Big 10 have a reputation for great academics? That is the first time I have heard of a football conference (other than Ivy league) being associated with academic prestige.

Not questioning the benefits of your other achievements/service, just what makes a Big Ten school degree so special. Maybe I'm in the dark about this.
