Not to worry it will go by the wayside in a while. Expressjet guys don't drink the koolaid as much.

That will show 'em! Then the company builds the pairings and the lines! I can't wait to hear the b1tching then. Or, we could use the joint contract to make the improvements needed to PBS so that it works better for both parties.

I also ended up on reserve while people junior to me got lines. I had 4 days of training that conflicted with all of the trips that were left over that week. the low credit for training and the high credit window put me on reserve. I had select all remaining pairings and allow single days off. does this mean every year when i have training durring the high credit summer months I will get reserve? Never would have happened under line bidding.

Mission accomplished.

If you get screwed, your fellow "brothers" tell you to "learn how to bid". That is sometimes the reason but not always.

In the past you would have simply had 3 crappy 4 days and a 4 day training event. Now you get reserve. Congrats to the company. You got what you needed.

Unfortunately our mgmt can't "manage" their way out of a paper bag. Our labor costs have SKYROCKETED since implementation of PBS. The opposite effect they wanted. I GUARANTEE they will come after vacation low and then all you cheerleaders will see what the rest of us are talking about.

I have been VERY happy with PBS. Sounds like this is more the vocal minority, as 90% of the people I have spoken to about PBS like it.

The same 90% who voted in this garbage. You think they're gonna admit it's a massive steamy turd?

It's going away with any luck.

EXPRESSJET pilots, heed these warnings

expressjet pilot...do your research... most people are happy with it... junior or senior..i know people happy to get off reserve... some people can hold weekends off now that couldnt before.. or partial weekends...... some have 4 days but with better duty in and duty out times that fit their personal schedule...

ask around... more like it than not...nobody is going to say that to you because you are most likely a pain in the a__ to deal with and talk to anyway

I'm one of the most junior hard line holders in my base (bottom 10-20 depending on the month) at xjt and consistently get lines with all crap 4 days over the weekends. With our system I'm able to trade to get all weekend days off (or most) and work mostly day trips and 2 days (I live in base). Crediting 100-110 hrs is usually never a problem, not even considering red flag pay. If I get a crap schedule with pbs will I be able to improve it like this?

In May my vacation turned my crap 4 day/weekend line in to 21 days off for the month at a 75hr guarantee. I then traded in our Initial Line Improvement Window to 23 days off/weekends off/1 and 2 day trips and still kept my 75 hr guarantee. Anything I picked up that month was paid on top of the 75 hrs at the applicable red flag rate. Again, with your system will I be able to improve my schedule like this?

If pbs can do this and more for us at xjt I'm sure we will consider voting for it. Proving to us it will be better than what we have will be difficult though.

You're implying that somehow i made a mistake by my lack of knowledge of the system. You are incorrect.

No, he's not incorrect. You still need to build yourself up to 75 hours, and if you are not senior enough to get that in 2 high credit trips then you did not bid properly. The bottom of the window is 65, but it will try to get you to 75.

Also, how senior are you in your seat?

So is there a grievance yet for junior people getting lines while those senior are "awarded" RSV? I just might jump on that band wagon.
