SWAFO, you really do crack me up. Have you really been in this business long enough to think you deserve my seat, yet you don't even seem to have a nodding understanding with how airplane are ordered, or power by the hour agreements, or countless other things? :erm:

Check out the DX reliability rate for the 717 against other comparable aircraft. I doubt you'll find any difference.

The engines may be hand grenades, but they are leased hand grenades. . . . and the aircraft dispatch very reliably right up to the point where they s the b. . . . ;)

Wether an arbitrator gives it to you or not, you do not deserve a captain seat at SWA. You know that, Ty. Even three year olds know what fairness is, they just have trouble showing it sometimes.

That's your opinion. Enjoy it. Take comfort in it. Revel in it. . . . . Your opinion, and two bucks will get you a glass of that fruity sissy wine you like on your next layover. . . .

Actually it's good 'ole house wine. Not bad really. But if you're not in touch with your "fruity sissy wine" side, then some long necks are $2.

I didn't think you did... I just understand how things get "lost in translation" the 3rd or 4th time they get passed around.

If they could figure out the engine issues, we'd be golden. We were having a discussion on our internal forum regarding why HAL doesn't seem to have the same problems. It's not the way we operate the aircraft (the computer adjusts the autothrottles from the application of takeoff power until idle is commanded in the flare), and it doesn't appear to be the single-engine taxi we do here (something like 97% compliance on single engine taxi-outs, which is pretty dang good, but it's not one engine or the other that seems to have a problem, even though we always start the same engine first, just like you guys do).

The only thing someone mentioned was that HAL rarely goes above the low 20k altitude range (sub-1 hour hops), where ours are usually in the low 30's. Leaves me wondering if it's the idle descent we're doing from higher altitude all the time and whether going from cruise to idle all the way down is somehow shock-cooling something internally.

How long do you idle your engines before shutdown?

Ty, his opinion does matter...as does yours, he is just not as insulting about stating it as you are...hopefully common ground can be reached that allows you to feel ok with whatever seat you end up in...

Most trannies would give their firstborn to be stapled to Southwest Airlines. Don't let the vocal minority on here kid ya.

I have already made up my mind to accept the final ruling, whatever it may be, for there is no other reasonable choice.

As Mark Twain famously observed:

"Most folks are about as happy as they make their mind up to be".

and

"Happy is he who forgets (ignores?) what cannot be changed".

As a Propagandist, Baghdad Bob, you're an abject failure.

Every time you make a post like this, you probably piss off one or two more AAI pilots enough for them to pick up the phone and tell their Reps to "take it to the mat", followed by telling five or six of their coworkers, "Can you believe that those jackasses are calling us "Trannies" and saying we would be happy with a staple?".

Keep it up, you're doing great work, Bobby Boy.

No one should lose their present position or relative seniority!

That's whats gonna happen if it goes to arbitration . Deal with it.

It's gonna go to arbitration, and yes GK will implement the combined
list. Because , not to do so would risk the future of the company.

And You know that you don't deserve a Southwest Captain's seat
a the expense of a present Captain!

Kwick,

so....10 yr saw foa pulling gear for 5 yr aai cp....we will have made the complete transition to a legacy...enjoy, I hope u r wrong...

I think , Date of Hire, with fences is reasonable, but most of the SW guys , on this board, don't seem to think that is enough,
"Penallty For Being Bought"

I feel a rude awaking is on the way. Kwick & Ty will be the most upset trannies out there. Don't be stupid, you think SWA Management will turn their back on their "hired" employees? You think this is ONLY a Pilot issue? How many "one luv" lanyards you see on Southwest employees? That should be a big hint! Don't push it Ty, be smart. Or you might "out smart" yourself out of a great opportunity.

The first time I heard the term Tranny/Trannies it came from one of your Captains, back when you charged for the jumpseat... Wtf was that? Leonard beer money?

"take it to the mat" - trannies have the most to lose. Most of you guys are smart enough to see a great deal, some aren't like Ty.
:cartman:

DOH is a LOOOOOONNNGGGGGGG way from the Relative you stated just four posts above this one.

I won't comment on either one of your silly ideas ( :) ) but you should pick one or the other to run with!
