Who cares where they fly every pilot I've ever flown with somehow brings up money and considering SWA pilots can fly a 737 domestic and make as much as a 747 pilot at DAL I'd be embarresed if I were the guy more than three time zones away.

So when DL matches your rates on our 737s and get more for bigger planes, what then will you say? What will make being a corndog different then? You get to fly MORE legs per day? Yeah! Good for you guys! Delta's better pay with the new contract will make Southwest guys at the bottom of their new SLI list think about coming over for something different than Providence to Columbus.

I don't work for SWA I'm on the outside looking in. I hope you guys do raise your rates as you should, what'll be interesting is how much scope you'll have sell out to get it, hopefully zero but I doubt it.

As other DL guys have stated before, the current contract is still mostly concessionary from the Delta bankruptcy. That, combined with the profits as of late, and it may be mostly giving by the company. Also, notice how fast and smooth the merger went with NWA compared to all of the other mergers? Apparently that wasn't by accident.

Wont happen the ALPA job killing machine will soon be the recipient of another beat down when they start the old demand of more money for less work. Times have changed the companies are not playing that game anymore.

keep dreaming guys, keep dreaming, when you guys start working like SWAPA pilots maybe just maybe your company will start paying you like SWA pilots

I'm just saying

And Hawaii flights are usually low yield

OYS,

I love it when you try and act like you know what your talking about. Why don't you ask Alaskan how that's working out for them? Get your facts straight first. They are doing very, very well on those routes with the same -800's SW will be getting. Do you think Gary hasn't noticed? Don't you wonder why they recently changed the Rapid Rewards program?

I can't wait for the day LUV goes to HNL in their sexy new 800's with New Age Sky Interior! My hope is that then perhaps this board won't be filled with a dozen threads per week that contain nothing but chest thumping about LUV coming to HNL!

or the hater's that continually say Southwest can't do X, Y, or Z. It's a non-stop on slaught of people from Delta bashing Southwest. The forum history proves that without question.

Delta bashing SW????? As an observer, it seems that the SW guys think that they are going to HNL, Europe and wherever with the best contract ever. If people point out the difficulties in starting service to those places, they are haters?

SWA has ended up with an industry leading contract through the BK of major competitors. Their one plane model lends to running a lean shop allowing those who want to work extra to make extra coin, easier done.

You have SWA pilots on here bashing ALPA as a "job killing machine" when I'm pretty sure ALPA does all it can to maintain pilot jobs, sometimes at it's own future expense.

For the sake of any future SWA newhires, I hope they do see some growth outside the lower 48, or it just may be more than a decade before anyone sees an upgrade. Best of luck on those growth plans.
