Think there'll be enough room on that little airport for all those "heavy" jumbo jet 737's?

That writer needs a "tour". haha

4800 ft is a pretty long runway in my book. I don't see why landing 1000 ft down the runway would require any special training or simulator. I was taught on a 2800 ft runway during my initial Private licencse training. Give me a break guys.

Stick to instructing then. We're all better off.

Your signature is cute and original; "I love to fly and it shows." It took a while to think that one up didn't it?

By the looks of your avatar, you love to eat and it shows, too. I'm guessing a slight amount of left aileron trim is required with you around.

Correct if I'm wrong. I was always under the impression that the 737-700 performed better at high altitute (more efficient wing), and 717 had the short takeoff roll advantage which allows it to feed mainline in ATL

The -700 was designed with special airport considerations in mind (second segment climb, approach/climb limits, etc).

Well

Takeoff on a wet runway when you are heavy and its hot outside and then have to abort?? Normal conditions for Key West.

You are going off the end.... and thats not going to be good

Back to the old "anything over 100 kts, we're only aborting for an engine failure, fire, loss of directional control, or a T/R deployment. Otherwise, we ain't stopping for sh*t..."

That's why jets have longer runway requirements (and corresponding lower max takeoff weights off shorter runways) when its wet...

...but not by a pea-brain like you...whatever airline you are at.

I spent a couple of minutes trying to determine what point you were attempting to make other than just to insult some anonymous internet poster. Still don't get it. Are you one of the scabs and retired management a$$ kissers in the FL training department? I have personal experience with those bozos (there are still a few good guys, but not many), which one are you? A good flush is exactly what is needed over there (which, if AP hadn't caved prior to the 2007 furloughs is exactly what would have happened), unfortunately gt1900 sounds like he's auditioning for one of their jobs.

I can only speculate as to the size of YOUR brain, since the little profile thingee next to my post lists BBJ and G4 Captain as current position. I'll let you draw your own conclusion as to what "airline" I work for.
