Would you rather:

Fly for GoJets

or

Fly for Republic in the E190.

Go Jets. Hands down. Both companies are there to get around scope. Republic is replacing mainline-paying jobs with regional-paying jobs while Go Jets is replacing regional-paying jobs with regional-paying jobs.

What about all those United 737 retirements, and go jets ordering more CRJs?

Really, did I just read that right? You would rather go fly for Ho-Jets, thats a big indicator into your failure with Republic.

Failure with Republic? What failure? I never failed a check-ride, never received a violation, and I voluntarily left with a clean record less than two years after I upgraded to work for what is now the largest airline in the world. As much as you don't want to believe it, my colleagues (legacy pilots) have more respect for Go Jets than Republic (neither one gets much respect). They are both teamsters, but Republic is a bigger threat. I would personally never work for either one again. When I started at Chautauqua, the largest plane we flew was an EMB-145. When I left, the largest plane I had ever flown was an EMB-145.

Soon Republic will just buy whatever is left of Midwest and operate the whole airline as a subsidiary with E-190s.

Now let's hold on one second, and think back. Now, wasn't there a clause when RAH began flying for Midwest, that Midwest could take over the lease of the aircraft, if the pilots agreed to it, and then Midwest pilots could fly the aircraft, and hence still have a job.

Midwest rejected the AirTran Merger, if they did not do this...You could still be flying now.

RAH has fed money into a dying airline, and hence kept it aloft. Did you Midwest Pilots actually think you would still be flying with the financial shape of the company? At least it is still operating.

Skyways gets put out of business, Skywest comes skipping in and takes over the flying. Skyways, wholly owned regional for Midwest, all the pilots out of work, Skywest takes the routes...where is your anger toward that company???

What I am seeing are a bunch of whiney a## babies here. I am victim from the TWA and AA buyout, so if you want bad go that route.

Maybe the Midwest pilots should have taken some concessions, and then maybe they would have less money, but at least they would still have a job and money coming in

Ah, so you used Republic just like everyone else uses regionals. How does that make you better than anyone else?

Are you kidding me? The Midwest pilots were willing to take concessions. They wanted to negotiate with the company to come to terms that would benefit both groups. Management would not negotiate. If the pilots at Midex gave management what they wanted, a Senior Captain would go from $153/hr to $87/hr. Top FO pay would drop from $100/hr to $37/hr. The kicker is that many captains were downgraded. So you would have guys going from $135/hr to $37/hr as a senior FO.

If you actually think that this is reasonable then you are obviously managements little wet dream. The pilots here actually took a stand, and all this undercutting is going to continue to ruin things for everyone.

Not a good comparison. At least the pilots ARE ON AA's seniority list (as well as the flight attendants) no matter how bad the integration got.

And frankly, no one has bought us yet, again unlike TWA. No one has forced us into Ch. 11 to get rid of Icahn's ticketing revenue scheme either. Your comparison has no merit.

The point of our bitching is that people make a great big deal re: GoJet yet stay silent on Republic, which is doing exactly the same thing here: Flying aircraft at lower subsidized rates (subsidized by their relative junior seniority) to replace someone else's flying.

And for the 80 millionth time, we offered Midwest management to opportunity to place ALL skyway pilots on our seniority list.

Hopefully Congress can sniff a little of this. An airline with a known tendency for fatigue (that was a contributing factor in the CLE overrun) is expanding it's flying to replace more experienced aviators due to "cost".

Cannot wait for 5 years in the future when that Indian FO will fly your crappy 170 for half what you do.

Wow...pretty soon we'll have the Space Shuttle being flown by RAH pilots making minimum wage. Way to go folks! What a freaking shame.
