Jetblue Pilots Vote Union Down

Guys. Congrats on a good test run.

I have talked to all of my buddies at jB about the vote. All were in favor of a Union but many were concerned about the next chapter if the Union were voted in.

It didn't seem like the pilot group had much confidence in a new Union with no clear agenda or leaders. Many pilots stepped up to organize a vote but many pilots did not know who the actual leaders would be.

I bet the vote for many was a NO simply because they didn't know exactly what YES was a vote for. Sometimes bad in hand is better than the unknown behind door #1.

Organization... clear an simple organization is something to definitely have for the next drive.

And I believe that there WILL be another drive.

Good luck to all. Pay attention to promises made and actually delivered.

Lighten up Francis!!! I have never said I was anti-union. I was anti-JBPA. They never once answered a question I had from how much it would cost to how the organization would be run. They lacked the basics of skills and was for the most part-- disorganized. I wasn't going to jeopardize my career with a bunch of neophites negotiating for their first time, ever. How long was pro-bono lawyers going to last?

Let's face it, many on the Bluepilots website and people like you turned us off with your emotional tirades. If there was a more professional and positive attitude from people like you, the outcome might have been different... But by your response, I see nothing has changed!!!

If we had a union, we would be in talks for years to get what the E-190 guys got for a raise. Better yet, how many airlines are giving raises at this time-- ah lets count them, ZERO!!! A unionized airline would have furloughed about 100 pilots this past September/October with the reduction in flight hours. No union thus far has retained anything as far as pay, benefits, pensions, or work rules for many of your so called "Legacy" carriers-- thanks, I'd rather keep my 2-3 percent than give it to those weak "live to fight another day" folks who are supposedly defending our way of life, RIGHT!!! They've done nothing but collapse to company demands time and time again...

I used to work for a company that used AAN's certificate. I really liked those guys, and it is my belief that they really tried to run a tight operation. The problem was that every lowlife operator in the country flocks to certificates for hire so they can operate with little or no oversight at their home base. These POS operators generally hire cowboys for operations and cheats for maintinence.

There was only so much they could do to oversee more than 50 aircraft and their crews from St. Louis. I have been saying for a long time that piggy backing on certificates likely will be outlawed sooner than later. It looks like it is coming sooner. I hate to see trouble like this come down on Doug and Steve, though. If ya'll are reading this, take care!

No. 33% voted yes to some union (even one called Silence) and the others didn't vote. The only way to cast a no vote was to not vote for the union. Of the 67%, it is divided among those who didn't bother or those who chose not to have a union.

Ok, I guess I wasn't clear in my original posting. What percentage of the list cast a ballot?
