Well said!!!
No argument. The point is, are you happy where you are at?
Is your management progressive or stagnant? Comparatively, yes, PDT does have good work rules and rates, considering the equipment. Those were hard fought for items in previous contracts. But how viable is PDT given the potential of mergers and consolidation?
My understanding is the DP has no plans to replace the airframes. What has SF told you about future flying? Status quo? Feed the mainline? Flow Through?
Yes, good work rules and great pay...for how long?
As for cocky pilots...well, welcome to the world of aviators. Every company has them, including yours.
And the DHC-8...a great airframe. The fact it is still in use should say something about it's versatility and strength. I loved flying it. But it was time to move on.

Yep, what trainer said. Thats sums up PDT.
Trainer, have you heard anything about maybe mainline furloughs? We have a bunch of PDT people that keep getting there class dates at mainline pushed back. Now some say that Scott Kirby said Furloughs are around the corner.
I bet the guys at PDT are sick of telling people that they are sorry for the POS they are flying. The company memo DJ put out memo telling them not to use the APU that it would save 36 dollars... Smart but at the same time stupid... PAX are scared and are now going to get sick. it really sucks for your guys when you have to fly around at 9000 watching for cessna traffic when we are up at 360-410 debating if we would at some heat to the air. I would rather have our new hires make a little less and fly a great airplane, than to make a couple dollars more flying something you hope you will land in.
PDT BLOWS no regrets leaving there at all. You may have a good contract but you can't even use it.
Good luck... i just watched the video of doug parker telling the sim spazz Paul... that you were not getting airplanes...
Looks like the only place you guys are going is down the S-H-I-T-T-E-R

Just remember PDT blows... the managment sucks... the schedules suck... the routes suck...
Farrow has no balls and because of his lack of testies PDT has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peal.
Honestly, can you really defend a company that will not put any money back into itself? I mean look at the "corporate office". Look at dispatch and their nice set up. They won't even let you have crew track or FLICA or anything other than their wonderful website. The managment there, only cares about the blue dots on the bottom of coke cans. You think you can put another 90K cycles on that dash? Apparantly your managers do!
Also, there is no QOL of life at PDT.
Granted we may not have the best contract, but we we work for one of the 2 best regionals that cares about its image.
Who do you work for again?

I guess what you don't get is that RPA is growing because they are cheaper ( bottom feeder ), nothing to do with this BS progressive managment. Maybe you could offer to fly A330/B777 for your current rate you would probably grow even faster but at least you would have new airplanes.
Your right PDT is stagnant and will be as long as airlines as your (or mesa, TSA, ETC) are willing to do it for less. Why would Airways give us the flying if we cost more than you? Bottom line RPA/MESA/TSA/ are the cancer of the industry.
PDT's stagnant run has to do with management. Blaming MESA, RPA, TSA is a coward's tantrum.
You want to place your blame where it truley lies? MAINLINE ALPA LCC MEC. Ask any Mainline pilot and they will tell you the LCC ALPA messed up by giving away flying from US Airways Group carriers. That was a negotiated deal by US Airways ALPA. You can have your tantrum about contract carriers, but the truth lies in the agreements that negotiated flying away from Group carriers.
Pay scales at RPA are aligned pretty close to PDTs, except the Capt rates cap out at $119/hr--add E175 overide and its about $127/hr--(vs LCC's E190 95/hr and PDT's 78/hr) FO rates at RPA don't go above 5th year. Up until March, it was a 2.5 year upgrade time.
Why did PSA get SJ's? I know the answer. They caved in on cheap RJ rates and broke ranks with the other PWOs. Check your history. Why are many PDT pilots not going to LCC? Low pay on the junior aircraft, the E190. WSurf, your reason? (Yes, I know the first couple classes went west on the AB and B737). It's the same reason the E190s at LCC are flown at competative RJ rates. It's what was negotiated your bargaining agent, ALPA. ALPA had the opportunity to bring in the PWOs, but didn't. The rest is history.
