UPDATE: Flops Randomly *TERMINATING* (NOT Laying Off) *MANY* Pilots!

Thought I'd put this in its rightful title, to avoid future confusion to those outside...

FLOPs laying off pilots
Just heard from a buddy of mine that he was laid off?? Anyone else conform?

Just confirmed this is 100% true! I figured people in CGF might get the axe, but the pilots?? I get requests for OT every week and now layoffs??

Don't know the criteria for layoffs, but if there is an out of seniority layoff I would look for FLOPs to close the doors within 2 months. Just my guess...

oh crap! Now what?
Heard 198 people in all. 70 pilots on the list. Way out of seniority for the office folks confirmed. Ricci is in charge again and the union isnt gonna be able to do a thing about this I fear. Sorry to all the pilots getting screwed.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Good luck to all. RTA guys look out.

Just when you think it can't get worse. I'm speechless...didn't think Ricci had it in him to this extent.
omg:mad:

What aircraft type are they getting fired from?
Large cabin? Mid cabin or BJ?
Were any of the 17 new hires from the last 3 months let go or is it just the pilots with 5+ years of experience.

Yes, these are terminations! Guys on the road are given airlines home. They take your BlackBerry right away but you aren't required to sign anything right there. I guess you have 45 days to accept one weeks pay for every year of service. I can hear the law suits now...

There better be (lawsuits)!

anyone know if MS is involved, or has he been kicked to the curb?

...OR will he be kicked to the curb after this and Ricci will pretend he just swooped in to save us.

He's ALREADY THERE, so no fooling us there

May training class cancelled.
I was suppose to start class last monday the 19th but rec'd a call from Susan F. in HR that the May class was cancelled indefinetely. I asked why and the answer she gave me was that Owners weren't flying and that they had to return some a/c that were on leases so no need to add crews. She did say that April class did go thru training. Good luck everyone.

Consider yourself LUCKY! Why would you come here in this horrible climate anyway? Have you been reading the board since Jan?

Anyone else just getting a BUSY SIGNAL when you call the co? I wanted to see if there was a new weekly message, and the main # just shows busy.
Are we out of business yet????
Something tells me that might explain the "armed guard" thing....?????

Still in operation. I have a few friends still working in the office. All of the layoffs were to be done by 1600 today. So if you haven't gotten a call yet, your stil good. For now anyway.

...Until NEXT Friday when the opposite schedule pilot group is out, right? Love the adherence to standard Friday firings....:angryfire

Are they saying who is behind it all? MS...? KR???? Both? Any mgt gone? Did they put Bob R**nh*** in charge of the place or something? It just sounds so absurd.... I can see if the doors were closing all together...but this is crazier than the usual brand of incompetent crazy:angryfire

So which one of those is B19?

I really feel for you guys/gals. Tough situation, tough times. I know I would feel like one of the sheep in the pen behind the slaughter house. Good luck.

To those of you that got the boot, I'm sorry and wish you best. To those still at FLOPS best wishes as well hope you all get out! I can tell you all there is life after FLOPS (I got out in OCT and the grass is greener!).

To management FU & shame on you all. Sheeringa you are a spineless little weasel, Sanjay - you're just book cooking tool, Tyler - you're a two faced liar...

Good luck to my friends still at FLOPS!

DITTO!

I was fired today from FLOPS, been there 8 years this August. The reason was "performance". When I questioned them on that- nothing but silence. I did not fly broke airplanes, fatiqued, hungry, or did overtime. I performed my captain duties as a professional pilot. I have never been called in for counciling on performance.

I am also a devout union supporter, P2P member, and on the membership committee. As many of us our who were fired. My senority # is 313 out of 561.

Basically, fired for being a professional.

Our management team can only make this company profitable by being cheap and raping its employees.

It looks like a witch hunt to me...:angryfire Were the pilots vocal supporters of 1108? Were they standing up for their right to work under a contract? More bad management/disgusting behavior from the FLOPS. Considering the source I guess we shouldn't be surprised (after all it has been proven that Sheeringa lacks integrity) but yet it still comes as a shock. My sympathy to all affected and to those who will understandably be wondering if they are next. Examples of out of control managers just prove why pilots band together in unions and insist on getting fair processes written into legally binding contracts.
Good luck everyone!
NJW

I just heard that CGF MX facility has also been shut down. It looks like all of those pencil whippers are also gone.

OCC, Owners Service, IT, Safety, Flight Attendants, Maintenance, Aircraft Acquisitions and Sales have also been laid off/ fired.

NO CONTRACT UNLESS THE PILOT HOSTAGES COME BACK !!!

...Basically, fired for being a professional. ...

Slowjet, not only for being professional but also for having the guts to stand up for yourself and for trying to help your fellow pilots. I feel awful about what has happened to you and the others, :( but you can't put a price on self-respect and a good reputation. At least the Options pilots can look in the mirror and hold their heads high....something the FLOPS can't do.

My respect and admiration to the wrongfully terminated pilots and their families for taking a stand against corporate greed and trying to raise the bar in the fractional industry. Best wishes! NJW

Don't hold your breath

I wonder if our "brothers" at NJ will offer their 'altruistic' helping hand now to those fired....or is their job done now that Flops is all but dead?

While I am a supporter of OUR union (FLOPS IBT), it always has been my belief that their out of the blue newfound brotherhood in the beginning of this process and beyond was to accomplish this exact end. Ever have a NJA pilot be as "kind" on the road before they decided to get us so "close"?

I feel we have been victims of gross mismanagement AND competitive BS. Now suddenly they leave IBT, and several key "organizers" go there. Job done I guess.

Thank you to those who stuck around and were likely unwittingly duped. I have full faith in those officers still here, but no doubt that the past was a matter of keeping "Friends close and enemies closer" with the NJA involvement.

Think about it? What POSSIBLE advantage was it for them?

This nightmare and company has very little left now, I am sure.

Now that we'll be gone, NJA mgt can go back to setting the scene for taking everything away in the next negotiation, and everyone will be back to square one.

What a bad f'ing trip.

The whole Mx facility????
Do we have any doubt now that the doors are closing? They were just talking about expanding, now the opposite? ...Anyone now anything more about how many planes are being turned in or repo'd? Are any of the Beechjets (wondering if we are going to an all BJ fleet to help Ricci's new side "business")?
This is just insane. Have entire fleets of crews been term'd or is it all random?
Any news on what (if any) corp morons are gone?

Speak of the devils:

I said this back in 2005 about the nature of business and it being in our (NJA's) best interest to drive Flex, CS, and FO out of business. Stand by for the bleeding hearts to whine about how it's bad to do that because pilots would lose their jobs. Boo hoo.

Now NetJets will need to aggressively go after XO Jet.

VOR

Truly sorry to hear about what's going on at FLOPs. Just so you know, there is already a long thread on the NJASAP site about this and many offers of monetary support to our brothers at FLOPs. Quite a few guys are ready to don their uniforms and grab some picket signs for a show of strength at Cayahoga.

I'm sorry you feel you were duped by the NJA pilot group. We are still IBT. And even if we weren't, you can expect help from this quarter.

Hang in there. And direct your anger at those who deserve it, the management stooges who think that they can act like this without consequences.

Yes I was told that CGF will be shut down as a Mx facility due to the short runway and difficulty in operations in and out of there. With over 130 office staff gone.

I was also told that Rick F the training director also was fired. So much for working with the management and trying to BS the pilots during his DAL meetings.

Oh, don't worry...they bear the excess of my wrath... JAIL is where they belong!
Oh, and ATTENTION KR! :
NO ONE will believe you when you attempt to swoop in and pretend to save us. You are ALREADY IN AN OFFICE in CGF and those who don't know it, will soon enough. No good guy rescue BS will work for you now!

Class action fellas.

Serious. I've never heard of such crap before. This is really unbelievable.
