With the way things are in this industry now.....Dude you need to ZIP IT! If you have a grievence? Talk to your rep and explain to them how overworked we are and that you deserve 200% for JA's. Better yet, reach down in the depths find a little humility, and thank God almighty your not at some Supplemental carrier or at Mesa where a lot of times its straight pay and instead of having 10 or 11 days off a month its 9 or 10.

Drink somemore koolaid. I like it here at SWA but there is plenty of room for improvements in pay and QOL not to mention throwing gear for 10-14 years.

DEN growth = shrinking pool

Got the call today for the June 4th class! There will be 24 in the June 4th class. PD also confirmed earlier posts that there will be two more newhire classes in June!

I asked what the rate of deferral/decline has been and was told only a handful earlier in the year had to defer class due to mil./family commitments but otherwise just about everybody has been accepting the class assigned.

Congrats to all!!! We're extremely fortunate in these times and hopefully many more to come can feel the LUV! Now I must go pour a glass of Kool-Aid to celebrate!

Furthermore, I believe that this whole 10-14 year FO thing is as dumb as the poolies thinking they are going to be poolies for 2-3 years. Except for FedEx/UPS reserves doing nothing, could you please give me an example of how we can improve our QOL that isn't typical pilot whining.

How about COLA for the last two years. ect ect I could go on about duty day, JA, VJA, a pension fund or matching 401k amounts, splits trips that pay nothing with no rigs ect ect.

I am not saying it is not good here just need to keep tweeking the contract and the QOL and scheduling rules that we all can understand and agree to.

There is a difference between Nirvana and Eden. You've hit a FEW of the high spots. I'm damn glad to be here but to think it's perfect is far from the truth. We are card carrying members so we have the rite to complain if we see fit.

I promise, I'm leaving this whole subject after this post and you can call me what you will. I don't disagree with "tweaking" the contract. But Pensions? Really? That has worked out great for others hasn't it? If you are on duty more than 14 hrs more than rarely, you do need to contact your rep. If you are JA'd more than once in a bid period, you need to call your rep. As far as the 13 year upgrade is concerned, assuming that everyone who can work to 65 will, is a leap. You can maybe talk to the 15 year FO at US Air who is on reserve and see how he copes with it. While your at it ask him how that pension fund is doing. A money-purchase pension plan is what most pilot groups have and it's also called a B-Fund.
