PLAYED A PART in the accident...more like CAUSED the accident

I'm not pointing any fingers here but didn't the Capt. line the airplane up on the runway? I don't think the FO steers the RJ with the rudder onto the runway do they? (at least not on a regular basis) Just one tiller on the thing right? I'm also not saying it was all the Capt's fault either.... the flying pilot should have his heading bug on the departure runways heading and the non flying guy has his heading bug set to the assigned departure heading...... (at least thats in our ops specs for good reason ~ as far as I'm concerned). They "both" should have caught the mistake if they followed some simple good habits.
Sad stuff like this really doesn't need to happen.....
:bawling:

By the government's definition--annual revenue over $1 billion--it is indeed a major airline.

Then I guess the regionals pilots PCL is bashing are actually major pilots too? Maybe we should change the name of the forum? Wait, isn't Airtran an LCC (Low Cost Carrier)? Don't they already have their own forum?

I'm not bashing regional pilots, I'm bashing the idiots on the regionals board for attacking this copilot. There is a difference.

If any of you had the slightest idea what causes accidents, and how scary it truly is, you would keep your little inexperienced asses shut instead of crapping all over a fellow pilot.

I wouldn't want to share a cockpit with ANY of you.

******************** YOU!

This coming from the guy who blasted the SAS DASH 8 pilots for not shutting down both engines prior to landing! (who knows nothing about the 8's systems regarding loss of hyd's on the rudder with both engines shut down unless a mod has been put in place). What a display of experience you displayed Ruskie, I think the real reason you are not on this board that much is because you are still licking your wounds from the butt kicking you got on this thread :

http://forums.flightinfo.com/showthread.php?t=103147

advice from god's gift to aviation:

Let's see....

Both engines should have been secured prior to touchdown. This is not only for the safety of the passengers, but to reduce damge to the aircraft.

and,

The landing was made with poor technique, allowing the aircraft to contact the runway extremely hard. Much harder than should be considered for an unsafe gear situation.

I hate to say it myself, but it was a botched job. That aircraft could have been landed on the centerline with minimal damage. Instead, it took a hard right after an uncontrolled touchdown and departed the runway.

Here's the Ruskie being so very "professional":

They did a horrible job with that landing. Very unprofessional, very bad airmenship.

Say what you want. The flying pilot slammed it in and never secured the engines. No respect for the safety of the passengers.

Shame on you SAS pilots.

Hey Rushen you are a total hypocrite in the finest sense of the word! I guess it was OK for you to bash the dash accident because no one got killed right? :smash:

Is that what you are trying to say?

Or did you finally grow up?:puke:

I sincerely think you need to Shut the "f " up and go back into hiding sir....

The feelings are mutual about you too:

I wouldn't want to share a cockpit with ANY of you.

This post needs to be shut down. There is no respect. All airlines have made a mistake. Southwest could have killed thousands with their latest cracks. Those are the mistakes that should never happened. I remember a certain regional that went up to FL410 to have a little fun. That could have killed thousands depending on where they ended up. NOW those kind of accidents have no excuse.

virtually every time before the crash, I remember saying "you know, this place is an accident waiting to happen."
So why didn't you take it up with your company's safety committee or the FAA? Telling everyone now isn't going to do a whole lot of good.

Everyone was well aware of the problem.

Nah, 'shutting this post down' is the wrong idea. Follow this logic and we'll be burning books written by Terrance Mann. Far better to be able to speak openly about a topic, and identify morons, than to stifle conversation.
