here is a question.... Should taco bell sue taco time for making tacos? because they dont do it the taco bell way? how about Krogers suing albertsons because they sell groceries- but not the kroeger way? these different groups could save millions in advertising! and be part of one professional organization!

same thing done diffrently... If you dont like our freedom to choose and make decisions go somewhere where you dont have those freedoms..

All of you union bashers would've just loved to be around in the 20's and 30's before unions got involved in this industry. I'm sure in your minds the reason this became a well compensated profession is the goodness of the hearts of airline managers. I suggest a breeze through Flying the Line to learn what it used to be like.

Until the day ALPA makes one seniority list, and says here you go everybody. Those who want to join here's your chance, those that refuse can never work for an ALPA carrier. Then Skywesters might say hey, that's a pretty big deal maybe we should join. Until then everyone is in it for themselves whether you admit it or not. ALPA doesn't work when it has so many different interests in mind and dealing with a broken system of seniority that was created by the PILOT'S so many years ago. That's all been said here a million times already though.

If the sentiments expressed on Flight Info were the prevailing sentiment of the actual pilot population, SkyWest, and Colgan would both be ALPA. This board predominatly is a union sympathizing, out of touch minority. Come here for entertainment not facts!

I had no idea that so much APATHY had seeped into the majority of the pilot population. No wonder all your landings suck these days.

For those of you who don't know JP, he was a member of the ASA MEC..... the second most number of votes belonged to him...... Would you want him speaking on your behalf????

I've disagreed plenty with JP, but I would rather have someone like JP represent me any day instead of a cowardly, back-stabbing, self-interested, destructive rep such as yourself.

So.... and correct me if im wrong (because I'm sure you will) Though we have training, testing, and checkrides- as do you.. because we are not part of a Big kids club we are not professionals? I talk with my boss when I have issues. I dont run to a middle man. I dont always get the response I want- do you? do UsAir guys? do Mesa guys? How about ASA guys- do they all agree with you? nope. Are they professionals because of the club? no. They are professionals because they take pride in their work. They do a good job (most). We at SkyWest (most) take pride in our work. We are as professional as a group this large can be.

There are janitors that take pride in thier work. Pride in work is a good chararater trait...

I know the SKYW pilots are good pilots. I know that have good character.

The defenition of professional is not mine. I only sourced it. Simply put a professional has a code of ethics. Professionals work for the greater good of the public. SKYW pilots work for SKYW management... period. ALPA pilots, with thier safety and engineering dept., work for the betterment of the public... Our safety work is respected worldwide. What safety work does the SKYW pilots do offer to the make flying safer?

In addition, we have a process that if we don't like what our boss has to say we have a method to address these grievences. When you boss says no.. what do you do? You walk away and do what he says. You call your wife and tell her sorry... I'll be home later... someone else is making me work...

so SkyWest pilots have no ethics? Im just trying to understand..

our QOL is better than most that is evident.. I think you are referring to mesa guys who get called at the end of a trip to be reassigned.. I havent heard of that happening here- not saying it hasnt... but I know it happens at mesa... arent they represented by your so called "Professional organization"?

If it were coming from anyone but you, Rez, I might have considered it a valid point. But coming from a member of a castrated Union which is more concerned about its credibility on Capitol Hill than its membership...I will consider the source and hope that someday you will open your eyes and see ALPA for the laughing stock that it is. Good luck to AAA in getting ALPA decertified

You keep proving my point....

The state wouldn't need a prosecutor at any given trail of yours...
