Aloha Airlines' 1Q losses $24M
Monday June 25, 4:07 pm ET
For the first quarter of 2007, Aloha Airlines reported a net loss of $24.2 million.
That compares to a loss of $20 million from January to March 2006. Privately held Aloha reported in a U.S. Transportation Department filing that it has $33.7 million in cash and cash equivalents on hand.
Aloha's total first-quarter operating revenue totaled $88 million. Of that, $59 million was for coach passengers and $7 million for first class.
All three interisland carriers continue to suffer revenue declines this year. Hawaiian Airlines previously reported an $11.9 million first-quarter loss, while Mesa Air Group, parent of go! Airlines, posted a first quarter gain of $8 million but a $24 million second-quarter loss. Mesa officials said operating results for go! were $0.7 million "below plan." So what is this hiring for? Increased flying, retirements, people leaving? Just curious.

I imagine for attrition - people leaving and just running chronically short.

What kind of idiot would want to leave Aloha? Are they getting recalled at United of going to FedEx or something? Fright dog do you know any of tho guys thinking about leaving?

Aloha will always be around and will always have big respect for taking out Johnny O. Nobody will ever mess with Aloha again after mesa leaves.

people have been recalled at UAL. others have taken some pretty attractive corp. gigs. in the past there were some that went to SWA and alaska as well.

OK...so how do you apply if you don't know anyone that works there? What is the best way to possibly get in touch with someone who does work there if you live in the mainland???

What a novel idea! If only it were that simple... asking a strange person if you could buy them a drink and get to know them??? In LA??? kind of questionable!

how do you meet girls in a bar? ;)

anyway, no self respecting pilot will turn down a free beer.

btw, you are not required to know someone. just throw in your application anyway.

I meant it's kinda weird hangin' round a bar stalking some flight crewmember waiting for them to come down for a drink then imposing by asking them about a job. Anyways... where do you send the app/resume?

Also heard that they 're gonna interview in August for a possible class due to attrition. Time to turn in your resume ...
