What kind of background did the current new hires have? What are the mins?

Having lived in the islands helps I hear, shows you are familiar with the reality of living there. Some people get island fever quickly and are not too happy

The last class I think we had 1 go! guy, 1 USAF, and 4 Island Air.

The mins are ATP, 1000 multi, 2-year degree minimum or equivalent (60 credit hours), internal references "preferred" (read required), and unofficially, they like to see ties to the Islands.

I've always wondered about using a local address. I have a lot of family over there. Yet I feel it might look kinda goofy if they had to contact me on the mainland for an interview. Obviously these days people still have cell phone numbers from other states, yet if they wanted to interview me I'd need a ride over there (I dont have jump seat privledges presently). Would it be beneficial to use a local address? How else could I indicate "ties to the island"? All help appreciated....Mahalo!

I used my Uncles address, although when I got the job and showed up to class, 12 other guys came from the mainland and didn't hide it. An internal rec will have more weight than the address..IMHO Just don't use RS ;-)
