...A new domicile bid was recently posted in the Lakes crew room in DEN for an STL base beginning June first. Sorry about what has been happening to those of you left at Regions, I hope you don't feel like we are taking your flying...

What goes around comes around - we "took" your flying out of RDU many years ago.

Hey, if you're a current Laker, tell Chuck if you ever see him, that the majority of his former Corpex pilots did not agree with the weasel DC taking his position from him! Many of us enjoyed having a CEO that would actually talk to us when he flew on our flights; we also appreciated him cleaning up the airplanes and straightening out seat belts on those flights! I’m not a current Regions guy but I think many of those who remember Chuck while at Corpex will agree with me – he was a class act!

Not perfect of course because after all we didn't have the original pay scale (which was some 25% higher) but comparing to DC, Chuck was an angel!!!

...it sounds like there are alot of politics (literally) behind the recent actions "instigated by the FAA" If you ask me, Dick Durbin was the impetus behind the FAA's actions. Regions will not be serving any cities in IL, if Durbin has anything to say about it. And I would not be surprised if he enlists the outside help of other senator's to get his point across (Much like Daley cutting up Meigs, he wanted to prove the point that he gets what he wants)...

I’ve heard the very same thing – it’s amazing a “surrender-now” politician is allowed to pressure the FAA this much…

Well with incompetent management, we have a lot in common between our companies.

Yeh, perhaps.. but yours did not cause you to find a new job... :)

Are you kidding me with this fox "news"/Darth Cheney talking point?

No my friend, we'll always agree on some things and we'll always disagree on some other things.

In my view, our commander-in-chief should be the one making decisions regarding our troop levels, etc. and he’s doing just that based on the recommendations he gets from our commanding officers.
The anti-war, anti-corpex, Jane Fondesqué s.o.b. senator should keep his treacherous mouth where it belongs - in the toilet! Or maybe a bidé would be more appropriate for this French lover...

Btw, I know you hate Fox News (I believe your favorite term for it Faux News? ;))
Well, my mom refuses to watch CNN - the most anti-American TV channel they have over there in Scandinavia; and that includes all the European Commie Networks! - Without a doubt, their big brother Communist News Network takes the price of being the most biased news channels out there.

Remember - you’ll always be a leftie, and I’ll always be right! Lol

Oh, and this will really irk you. I still believe Iraq war was necessary; I just think we should’ve explained it better. We’re finishing the unfinished first Gulf War – the WMDs should have never even been mentioned. They do exist btw, they’ve just been relocated to Syria and some other peace loving nations.

Peace my brother from another mother! ;)

You have a new job? Congratulations!

Oh Tram, you couldn't be more incorrect!

I warned you! But you had a plan for a new job when you went to corpex, remember?

Ah, the lure of that 1000 TPIC!!! Older as I was I still fell for it-"the clock was ticking" in my case...

Corpex and GL have preyed on the young and innocent for years-when they were faced with the realities of the situation they got their thousand and got away...more recently they got a little 121 experience and got away-at least at corpex-my gosh for the cash they threw away on training! And that is just the way they want it. Managements that are unwilling to grow with their pilot group. It's short sighted and grossly incompetent but think of how many skilled individuals these two companies have passed on to other carriers without ever really benifiting from the experience that was instilled.

Both companies have ex-employees that are working for the best airlines out there-cargo and passenger and in all types of equipment from business aircraft of all description up to and including 747's.

It took a long while for me but I too have gone to a better place...so have many of my FO's from corpex that put in their time and got out and I couldn't be happier for them...

I wish you the same good fortune!

Well, this is the regionals board, so I'm not going to get into this on here. I think you and I could probably drink a bar dry debating this, or run FlightInfo's server to freeze. My comment was merely to say that I thought you, of all people, were above using fox "news" sound bites. Oh, and to add quickly, fox reports just as many "facts" as CNN, MSNBC, ABC, ad nauseum. Especially when it comes to Anna Nicole, or Paris Hilton. ALL TV media in this country has become worthless.

- Not only is it a regional board - it's Region’s board and yes it's OUR forum, remember our discussion? ;)

- you are sooo right on this one and I must say, I love the analogy. I've never heard it before but I'll make sure to use it in the future! (unless you copyrighted it of course :))

My comment was merely to say that I thought you, of all people, were above using fox "news" sound bites.

- I know what you mean and I was merely poking fun at ya, sort of misunderstood your question regarding the Darth Vader stuff, but it's all good.

Oh, and to add quickly, fox reports just as many "facts" as CNN, MSNBC, ABC, ad nauseum.

- You're absolutely right and frankly I'm pretty disgusted with all the news channels. What really irks me though is that the media outside the US, especially in the Middle East, but even Europe, Asia, etc. use OUR media to propagate their own views. So sometimes I feel like CNN staff is truly hoping we'll lose in Iraq just so their sister network Al-Jazeera will get even higher ratings.

I know I'm simplifying and maybe exaggerating things a tad, but you know very well that in my view CNN is very leftist; well I must say CNN International, especially Europe edition, is almost disgustingly anti-American.

I kid you not, their reporters gloat when our troops get hurt or even killed in Iraq or anytime there’s something bad to be said about the US and I just cannot stand it. I have seen it with my own eyes. Even the French news channels aren’t as anti-American as CNN in Europe, why is that?

So maybe it's sort of like when you have a sister? You know, it's ok for you to tell her she's stupid or even ugly, but God forbid someone outside your family does that? You'd get very defensive then wouldn’t you? So my point is that, had I known our enemies wouldn't be using OUR news media to propagate hate against us I wouldn't care what they say on CNN or anywhere else. From personal experience however I know that's not the case.

You’re right though, we could be debating this for hours. Fortunately for me, when I get busy I’ll be getting some debating help from BB from now on…I taught him well...;)

BB? He's a lightweight!!! HA! And maybe I will copywright that statement, just so I can charge you a small fee evrytime you use it.:pimp: I gotta go get my oil changed. In my car, I mean.

Oh, and one more thing. News is a corporation, for profit. The ONLY thing they care about is ratings, even fox "news". (fox news is owned by News CORPORATION, who also makes movies, enough said) Ratings sell advertisements. Advertisements generate profits. There is no longer a social obligation, just an obligation to stockholders. I'm sure there are lots of journalists that truly care and want to make a difference in the world. But, they are in places like Darfur, which the US doesn't care about, and it doesn't sell premium commercial slots. Go figure. How many Americans do you think could identify Anna Nicole Smith's picture? How many do you think could tell you what continent Darfur is located on. I'll bet the results of said survey would make you sick.

Want some actual news? Try reading The Economist.

- I’ll take that as a compliment…:)

LOL, I’ll have to change your statement just enough so I won’t have to pay, you know…pilot…cheap…?

fox news is owned by News CORPORATION, who also makes movies, enough said

- True, but CNN was created by Ted Turner – enough said, oh and he was married to Jane TreasonFonda - one of the biggest pieces of garbage ever, enough said…

There is no longer a social obligation, just an obligation to stockholders.

Very sad and very true…

I'm sure there are lots of journalists that truly care and want to make a difference in the world.

Yes – most work at Fox News! LOL

But, they are in places like Darfur, which the US doesn't care about, and it doesn't sell premium commercial slots. Go figure.

Brother, I got news for you, Europeans and Asians do not “care” either, you know why? Because Darfur is about Arab Muslims killing Christian or animist Africans and the entire world knows that oil is controlled by Arabs, so who cares about a small minority in Sudan? Liberals would rather talk about pulling out of Iraq; conservatives would rather talk about finishing the job there. Europeans and Asians would rather focus on the rising cost of oil. Well, everyone knows the government of Sudan is supported by Saudi Arabia and no one wants to screw with the oil mafia there, so why don’t we all just forget about the “tiny” Darfur crisis, huh?

How many Americans do you think could identify Anna Nicole Smith's picture?
How many do you think could tell you what continent Darfur is located on. I'll bet the results of said survey would make you sick.

I agree, however - how many Europeans do you think could identify the picture of David Beckham? Or his wife Victoria – the former Spice girl?

Now how many Europeans could name the latest countries that recently joined the EU? Or even point them out on a map? And how many of them could identify Darfur? I bet you’d be just as chocked.

Remember - Stupidity is UNIVERSAL, it has no borders. It’s very much in vogue right now, “know as little as you can and be proud of it.”

Want some actual news? Try reading The Economist.

Nah, I’ll stick to Washington Post, Daily Mail, Times, and some others… lol

I do read The Economist occasionally though, when I can’t fall asleep…:)

For the rest of you, thanks for staying awake ;)

I'm sure most of ya'll have already seen the recent 757 bird strike video. If not, here it is:

The airline is ThompsonFly.com - a British low cost scheduled/charter carrier. It happened just a few weeks ago...

Frack this political bovine excrement, let us get together and dry up some unsuspecting hotel bar!!!

Remember FFLS the time in STL that sked had released us all and we went and paid for our own rooms and was half an hour later frantically calling everyone on their cells trying to cover a trip...hehehehehe. Kind of miss the freepours there-I don't mind paying $5 for a large economy sized scotch!

Saw one wussie salesman whine about his bourbon and coke having too much bourbon in it...I never understood polluting good bourbon with coke anyway.
