Everyone was so angry that SkyWest pilots got paid the same amount to fly the 200/700/900. Now the rates are different. Everyone is still angry. Go figure.

Horizon FO's should be making more since there with the company for 8 years before they upgrade. SkyWest gets 12-18 days off per month.

Express Jet, according to airlinepilot central makes around the same and doesn't get performance rewards.... not to mention the worst domiciles ever.

The 900 rate does suck but there's no one that has a good rate on them.

What else ya got?

PS = Real mature post you put there. What are you, 18?

Hey ballsack, at ExpressJet we get profit sharing that (this year) will be anywhere from 5-7% of your annual gross pay.

Senior lines can have up to 21 days off (not that I will ever hold one) and with the profit SKYW is making your "Jet" rates should be killing ours, now if you flew the 900/700 all the time you would just break even with us. Not to mention your newhire payrates are dispicable.

Our bases do blow tremendously but at least they can all be commuted into from almost any city in the country unlike 70% of your bases (PSP, SBA, SMF, FAT, TUS, COS, SBP, MRY)

Untill the pilot group at SkyWest as a whole grows a back-bone (I know there are alot of good guys there that want a fair contract and a union) don't compare yourself to pilot groups that are doing it right like ExpressJet and Horizon, especially when other CRJ 700 operators like Comair and ASA are getting screwed and backpeddled into your rates.

The short of it: pilots love to bitch about something; each knows more than their own management; somebody is always better off and worse off; blame always lies externally; everything fails for lack of unity; always want more--as long as those antecedants do not change, pilots will continue to gripe.

.
Those bases are pretty senior and most people at those bases live there.

ORD - Junior base
IAH - Used to be a base. Practically had to hire street captains to staff it but it was just a prop base.
DEN - Not as junior as ORD but still fairly junior

With the exception of COS all of the bases you mentioned are incredibly senior for the RJ. Perhaps people prefer living in a nice place and not commuting to living in a nice place and commuting to a ********************hole.

I agree with you about how your bases blow tremendously. CAL has had to hire turboprop FO's because their bases blow equally badly.

Not sure where you're headed with the domicile comparison but it appears to be a deep hole.

Now the rates are different.

The rates aren't different. If the rates were different, there would be different pay scales for the -200 versus the -700/-900. There is an override. Soon, block and credit will be cut so that the override will equal what we originally started with.

You're right, we should all be in awe of your 2000 hr greatness. Jacka**

That still doesnt answer why ASA puts 300 hr kids into jets? Is it because they went to riddle or because they sorted papers and answered phones for 4 months? But I guess you dont mind watching them, do ASA captains get babysitter overide pay?

Horizon FO's should be making more since there with the company for 8 years before they upgrade.

There are only 16 out of 376 FO's at QX that have been on the property over 6 years and the junior captain has 5 years of seniority.

55% of QX FO's make $39.76/hour or more.

29% of QX FO's make $45.69/hour or more.

Just to set the record straight...again...

You DON'T have different pay rates. You have an override. They are 2 different things. All your soft time is paid at 50 seat rate. Clowns.

Here's a fact. When your company submits a RFP bid, they have to include the current payrates of its employee groups. They don't, however, have to include such hidden compensation such as profit sharing or overrides. So if SKW wants to pay us an override on the 700/900 instead of a split rate so they can be more competitive in the SJP market then more power to them. Just make the override equal to everyone else's split rates, which our new override certainly doesn't.

The only thing that really drives me more into the union camp is the fact that management only wants to give us 1% total for a full decade in order to offset CoL increases? WTF??

wake up skywest grunts, your downward pressure is what is killing mesaba and comair, if you would have got a real 700/900 pay rate everyone else can raise the bar instead of lower it, and if you call working more to get paid more good your crazy, the object is to work the same or less and get paid more, you f'in idiots

Skywest: When ya'll get back from your mission, grow a sack!

All of that aside, TUS is a piss hole. So is FAT and I don't know how anyone can afford to live in MRY with what they make at SkyWest. Even with the "overide."
