Wow! I'm a 29 year B190 captain at eagle. your not much of a long term thinker are you? So how is the retirement package at Eagle?

hanksters voice on

i've had it up to my second chin with youse guys typing on the internet. git back to work and fly that airplane or i'll get the trackers to git you some moah work!

hanksters voice off

i do believe our 401k isn't too bad. the match is similar to corporate 401k plans. count on no one to provide your retirement. if you do not believe me, ask the guys at delta, northwest, usairways, twa, or united.

Um, yeah, Eagle does not have any B190's. And our 401K, and benefits are some of the best around.

you should be so honored to have flown the b1900d siucavflight.

1900 - half the pay, twice the work!

I have not flown the 1900, I am not sure what you are talking about. The only props we have at Eagle are the ATR and the SF3, there are not any 1900s at Eagle, and we have not had them for a while.

The scales are tipping toward all pilot groups for once. I, for one, am cautiously optimistic.

100% guarantee
block or better
10 days off on reserve 11 for line holders (28 day bid period)
$1.70/hr perdiem
$25/hr for all 1st year FO's regardless of equipment
15% pay raise across the rest of the board.
Trip and duty rigs would be icing on the cake.

You forgot to add company supplied plywood boards to the list :D

i am saying you should have flown it. it would have made you a better pilot. your tone seems to be it is beneath you.

i know what we have at eagle, thank you very little.

Mainline isn't what it used to be either. If given the chance id rather have bigger planes here at skywest. Much easier than having to interview and start over at a major. Also more profitable in the long run at todays pay rates.

Yep so you could fly an Airbus or 737 for 50 seat rates also. Sounds like a sweet deal.

I spent over 800 hours on the 1900 at Skyway, never thought that it was beneath me.

Never said that. There is already a seperate payscale for that size of aircraft. Besides mainline would have to give up the scope for us to fly that size aircraft.

my respect for you has just gone up.

curious, why did you come to eagle if you spent a year (i'm guessing based on the time you gave) at skyway?

Good luck with the retirement when your investing your first ten years as an FO. WoW, you seriously are thinking about your 401K from Eagle for retirement. Here is some free advice. Upgade after 10 years, then spend five years as a junior RSV capt, then five more years building PIC time then get hired on a Major carrier, passenger or cargo, your preference. Then enjoy five years till you retire as a junior FO there and then you can spend your 401K.

I usually charge for that type of financial advice, but for you its free, since you are pretty smart and have your career path well planned.

How long have you been at eagle. How's your retirement package?

Like ALL other regional carriers and now most majors, we only have a 401(k). But in comparing our 401(k) even with non-aviation companies, it is actually quite good.

20 years with Eagle gives my 100% matching at 8%. Started it 14 years ago and now at 330K. A fidelity fund at half that is actually doing better because of more flexable investment options. With 15+ years to go (20 if they raise the retirement age), I'll be O.K.

One and a half other side businesses bring in slightly more than my annual Eagle pay, so I'll bail when my efforts are no longer rewarded appropriately. 4 weeks annual vacation at Eagle (every third month) not too bad either.

At any rate, 8 year RJ captain makes about 75K........could be better, but not at places like NWA or most fractionals/corporate.

Want anything from that ethically bankrupt "leader" there.

You'll have to take it to the wire and STRIKE.

The typical ALPA negotiated result will have you equal to us AT BEST.

I don't see it with all those 24-year old wide-eyed kids running around with sleeping boards just happy to fly a shiny jet instead of a dirty 172.

Too many of them at Mesa and virtually NONE are aware of the history of this profession and don't care.............too much "me,me, PIC" going on.

Most would rsther wallow in their own feces for the promise of something better elswhere. Johnny knows it, knows you and will prove it.

Mesa pilots don't have the guts to take a stand.

With support from Jacka$$'s like you there is no way Mesa pilots take a stand. Mesa pilots need the support of ALL regional pilots when the contract comes up, which is amendable in about 9 months. If no support is given and guys like you keep spouting off about how Mesa pilots would "rather wallow in there own feces" as you put it than what motivation is there for mesa to hold the line. the pilots will just take a deal for growth to suit themselves.

what growth?!?!

us airways doesn't like them. you think freedom will stay a delta feeder if this deal goes through?

they can't even cover their flying they have now.

good luck in 2007. listen to angelo, he knoweth what he speaketh about.

I spent a little over a year at Skyway, and could have made CA within the next year there. My reason for Eagle was more personal than anything, Skyway was a great place to work. But I live a little south of ORD and the drive to MKE was getting very old, and I was not about to sell my house, so went to Eagle to get closer to home.

you and i have a lot in common. i had a little time (350 hours) in the left seat at air midwest and was there for roughly 700 hours in the beech. please tell me you're a sox fan (southsider then). cubs suck!

Lets just say if I got hired at any airline and my only option was the B-1900 I would straight up turn it down. Not because im against turbo props but because QOL flat out sucks on the turbo props. I gotta look out for the intrests of me and my family. I suggest anyone else offered a B-1900 slot straight up turn it down unless they give you good reason to accept it.

Are you speaking from your extensive experience?

Generally, the proptrash have better schedules and shorter reserve times because the seniority level is lower. That makes up for the job being slightly more difficult.

RTFP!

JohhnyO's email to the pilots posturing for the company's opener for the new contract and possible rebuttal to the NO Confidence vote of the ENTIRE Pilot group in the current Management team.

Lets see what supporting Mesa does during this time while they're trying to unify against Orenstein.

Why the vote of no confidence? Is your company losing money? Is there no growth? Have there been furloughs?

JO is an a$$hole, but he has demonstrated he can run a profitable airline, which is what you need if you want to stay employed.
