When I worked the line in LAR, several political dignatarys came and went. I have seen Harison ford in LAR, JAC, and 61B of all places. He was pretty much a prick every time. Also Elton John flew in on his Challenger, I don't know if it had a chandalier in it or not. He didn't even look at anything or anybody from the airstair to the limo. The Vice pres. has been in LAR a few times. I have flown Tom Brokaw, Gardner( I cant remember his first name) the wrestler that got the gold medal in Sydney, and several university presidents and coaches.

One time the lead singer from Three Doors Down got stuck at a truckstop in LAR. I was working the line that night and it was snowing to beat all hell. He called out to the airport and wanted me to fly him to Boise, ID. As much as I wanted to (never mind the fact that he said money was no object) the weather was to crappy to blast off in a 182RG. Oh well.

This summer we took out like 20 gay guys to the canyon for a trip. Todo tours I think it was. Anyway the guy that won the first surviver was one of them. They tip good at least.

In my charter days...

Flew Vanessa Williams (former Miss America/singer/actress) very nice and personable. Not to mention a knockout.

Picabo Street(skier)

Ray Allen(Mil Bucks nice guy)

Liz Hurley and Brendan Frasier ( for 'Bedazzled'He was cool. she on the other hand was a major Beeotch when told..."uh Ma'am? Dont think we could get all that on our Lear ma'am)

In my airline days...

Mya (R&B singer 'whew' what a hottie and she was nice too. Probably because I was drooling over my flight case)

Saw Chris Rock when I was walking through the terminal in DTW.

Was standing behind Jerome Bettis (Steelers runningback) in the line at Burger king in DTW. Was trying to be low profile but people kept bugging him for autographs. Made a joke by saying, "I get this alot too" he just looked at me like I was from Alpha Centauri"

Della Reese

Erykah Badu while jumpseating on National (class act airline by the way) and was trying to get her autograph for my sister but she was curled up in her first class seat fast asleep. Didn't want to bug her.

James Earl Jones (autographed our flight release)

Bill Bates (former Safety for my beloved Dallas Cowboys. Nicest guy you could ever want to meet)

and a former Tuskegee airman who looked at the flight deck of our CRJ and 'sighed' "man this is something compared to my old Mustang. Another class act.

Good thread,

Jimmy Buffett. My old boss and Jimmy were good friends so we would fly with him in his Caravan when his pilots weren't around (usually they were somewhere else in the Citation, then Falcon, with his wife). When Jimmy was in the plane I was in the back while he and the boss flew the Caravan. The first time I met him, he thought I was a Parrott Head so he was cool - we chatted about flying and fishing. On all of the flights after that, when he knew I was just the hired help he was a prick - not even a hello.

Yeah, they were good friends until Jimmy found out what a crook he was.

I met Jimmy a few times in CT when he would fly in to do his show in Hartford. Nice to me, but then I wasn't the hired help. Almost got fired from my instructing job by 425driver's boss for getting my picture taken with him but hey, you only live once.

Also have seen/met:

Robert DeNiro at SWF

Harrison Ford at CAK when he was ferrying his Beaver from TEB to Jackson Hole, I believe. Nice guy.

Elisabeth Dole when I was pumping gas at Signature. Almost too friendly. You knew she was in politics.

Kenny Rogers (cool), Annette Bening (beeyotch), and Orca Winfrey (egotistical super beeyotch) at Signature as well.

Billy Joel. He was sh!t-faced after his concert in Hartford.

Stuart Scott (ESPN) and Buck Showalter, (sp?) ESPN and former manager of the Wankees, on flights from BDL to ATL.

Hillary Clinton at PVD. Had to wait 45 minutes to taxi because of her.

Paul Schaeffer (Letterman) at HPN. Always thought he was a dork, but not a bad guy.

Folks I have known: most of the rock and pop acts of the 70's and 80's: backstage at concerts, and radio station visits, some out on the town hijinx in NYC, too.

Folks I have flown personally in my short charter career:

Denise Rich (of the Mark Rich pardon, Clinton's friend)

Tony Snow, Fox News

Henry Kissinger

Madelaine Albright

Danny DeVito

some current white house staffers whose names I can't recall.

All of the above were very friendly.

Other recent riders at my company:

Britney (travels under an assumed name, and was not identified by two of our pilots.....DOH!)

Mrs. Cheney

Colin Powell

Slick Willy

Shaq

maybe another 50 or more that I can't recall now.

I ran into Al Gore at IAD. He is a nice, sincere man. He seems a little more outgoing in person than he appears to be in public. I didn't share my political story with him, since he and I were both just passing through. I wished him well. I remember feeling a little sorry for him, too.

The girl that played Ellie Mae in The Beverly Hillbillies.
DFW-BTR

The Ripley's Believe it or Not - Werewolf Men.
DFW-SGF

Also a few of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, I don't remember where.

My list

Lets see,
three come to mind real fast.

1) Diane Sawyer- wonderful person. Picked her up in Havana
during the Elian Gonzalas fiasco a couple of years ago.(you
remember Elian dont ya?)
2) General Robert Scott- author of "GOD IS MY CO-PILOT". Took
him to Midland,TX to be inducted into the Confederate Airforce
Hall of Fame just a few months ago. A real honor and if you
have not read his book,do so. Its a must read for all aviators
3) Bobby Bowden-great guy,just like on t.v. I greased that
landing and his exact words were "Good job, boy!!!" Made
me want to do a tackleing drill for him!!
4) A few others

Learguy

Long before I met my wife, she was working at the Applebees in Dyersburg, Tennessee where the cast and crew of U.S. Marshals ate lunch, and she got to meet some of the actors...

Robert Downey Jr.: Very short. Nice guy, bit in real life looks like those mug shots on the cover of Time.

Joe Pantoliano: Pretty rude...barely acknowledged the existence of the "little people" (waitresses, etc.).

LaTanya Richardson: Very rude.

Daniel Roebuck: The guy who played Riggs. Actually talked to my wife at length on a couple of occasions and was genuinely interested in what she had to say. (Didn't hit on her, though...he had his wife and one kid with him.) He even convinced her to ditch the abusive as_hole she was married to at the time and look for something better.

...so, strange as it may sound, I owe my happy marriage to Daniel Roebuck, star of Matlock, The Late Shift, and U.S. Marshals.

What can I say? Life is bizarre.

Tony Randall- Fire Island Ferries (working as deckhand)

Down town Judy Brown-Fire Island Ferries (deckhand)

Katie Couric-San Juan PR In Arpt Store

Flew-76er's, Bruins, Penguins, Senators, Cubs, White Sox, Giants, Flyers, Orioles (took them to Cuba and spent weekend with them in 1999 along with Bud Selig) Diamondbacks, Brewers, Maple Leafs, Canadiens, Mariners, Bulls.

Keyshawn Johnson (night club while we were both trying to pick up women)

Warrick Dunn (multiple times in night clubs)

Mike Alstott (multiple times in night clubs)

Bernie Williams (multiple times in night clubs)

Doc Gooden (sat next too on Delta Flight tpa to atl)

Jack Hanna (Continental flight sat one row behind tpa to iah)

Carlos Delgado (Multiple Times in night club)

John Gotti Jr. (night club)

Hulk Hogan

Flew white house press core

Cant remember anything else except that a Captain I flew with was Captain on trip that flew Bin Laden's family to Europe after 9/11 that's it.

Jane Fonda - SAF

Shirley McClain - SAF (Wearing a green flight suit too, with a black vest over it)..looked kinda funny.

Don Imus in bathroom of SAF.

Ted Turner - FAR. Quite the loudmouth.

Tom Cruise - Also in FAR. Sitting on a couch in the lobby with his daughter.

Jerry Jones. SPS

Bob Dole - in small airport at Sumerset Kentucky. I was paying for fuel at this fbo there and I hear a hello from behind me as this guy walks past. I turned around and it was him.

Rodney Carrington - FMN (Farmington NM)

Pete Dominici - GUP (Gallup) Doing the usual politicing that they do.

After watching the Raiders-Titans game last night and seeing the halftime show, it reminded me of when I was just off of IOE on the 727 and got called out on reserve to go to New York and fly LL Cool J and 140 of his closest friends to St. Maarten for a little holiday. Don't know how many people charter a 727 on a moments notice.

Was on a flight from London to NYC and Barbra Streisand was in First Class. I was sitting in the first row of Business Class. For this 747 there were 2 Jet-walkways for de-plane-ing: 1st & Biz and coach. I was right behind Barbra as we were de-plane-ing. Of course everyone behind me was pushing and shoving, trying to get their "stuff" and hurry off the plane. So, as everyone behind me pushed, I was rammed into her. She turned around and told me to, "Stop pushing!" Later I saw her sitting on a bench waiting to get thru Customs. An old lady sat down next to her and started complaining about the heat, the crowded terminal, going thru Customs, etc. She had no idea who she was. As I was leaving the terminal she was getting into a limo with Jon Peters, (that was a few boyfriends ago) and they drove off.

I flew Johnny Cochran...

CMH-DCA and I asked for, and got his personal card, I said if I ever got in trouble, HE WAS MY LAWYER!! He laughed and it is a treasured, and HANDY, card. Al Gore many times DCA-BNA, nice guy and a hell of a lot more personable than he comes across on TV. I talked to him for about 10 mins, (this was about 3 months after the election) Joan Londen was a pain frpm DCA-LGA. Kirk Cameron and pals tried to gang-save me on the flight deck, nice guy to the crew. Nelson Mandela DCA-ATL, strange trip......The worst was hauling a plane load of family members YUL-CLT to identify remains from the Air Midwest crash the following day, very sad trip....

I have flown: Governor of Iowa, William Daley the brother of Chicago Mayor Richard Daley (also served in the Clinton administration), and at least 2 MTV "Real World" kiddies, some baseball player of the Brewers.

Nothing exciting...

Hey that reminds me.

I flew some baseball guy from KC to TEB. Not terribly personable. I think his name was David Cone? A pitcher or something...

If I remember correctly, David Cone pitched for the Muts and the Royals during his career.

Regarding dmikerich saying he saw BS/Babs on a flight, I'm surprised she'd ride with the commoners. I miss her husband James Brolin doing the Aamco transmission ads on TV. It would have been absolutely fab if Babs and James did a singing duet for the Aamco jingle. Oh well.

A couple of months ago I got a nice tour of Babs most recent charter aircraft, a refitted 727, at its base in Connecticut. It was also recently used by Sting.

David Cone pitched for the Royals, Blue Jays, Mets, Yankees, and Red sox. Pitched a no hitter a couple of years ago. He was once accused of "juicing" up a baseball in the bullpen with, uh... baby batter.

On my first flight with my 135 company last year I flew John Travolta. I wound up flying him 7 or 8 times last winter. He was very knowlegable about the King Air and said he used to own one like it. He would come up to the front and hang out with us occasionally.

I did most of Bill McBride's campaign flying in October. Nice guy, he lost.

I have also flown John Lynch's (Go Bucs) wife Linda. She isn't famous, but sooooo hot.

My company has flown in the last 6 months:
Sammy Sosa to Venezuela
Lucianno Pavarotti to Mexico

Been a while but just saw this and thought I'd add my short list.
Seen-
- Mike Ditka and Dick Butkis at LAX, real nice
- Jack Nicklaus and his G3 at OSU
- Michelle Pfeiffer and her husband boarding a G3 in Waterville, ME
- Peyton Manning at MEM, super nice, my brother gave him a football magazine to sign and he read the hot and cold NFL list, laughed and told my brother he was alright after the mag said he was on a hot streak and a rising star
- Usher on the same flight going from Heathrow to LAX, rude prick to everyone in sight, ordered around his assistant and demanded items
- Lorenzo Lamas and his Seneca in PRC
- Tom Arnold, Bryan White and Pam Tillis in Amory, MS

Didn't Cone get caught "juicing" up himself with his palm in the dugout a few years ago?

Flew Payne Stewart about two months before he died, nice guy.

Richard Belzer to LA, total nut job.

Flew Esai Morales to Miami a while back when they were filming that Elian Gonzalez Story, somewhat of an arrogant air about him but otherwise nice.

Lauralee Bell, that chick from Young and the Restless to Newark, very nice and really quiet.

Wesley Snipes to Milledgeville Ga., total dickhead, have no clue what he was doing there.

Flew Jerry Springer to Chicago once.

Winona Ryder from LA to Santa Rosa Cali, she was high, smelled like pot.

Yahoo Serious from LA to Las Vegas.

Around the FBO...

Jimmy Buffett:D

Rusty Wallace

Alan Jackson

Peter Gabriel

Aerosmith

Ozzy Osbourne

Tom Petty

Gene Hackman and wife from DEN to Santa Fe. Excellent people.

Patrick Swayze and wife from DEN to Santa Fe. She's Cool. He thinks everyone cares who he is and tries to ignore them.

Jodie Foster and Son and (her sister/assistant?) from DEN to Sheridan, WY. This one is worth telling:

She travels under a different (her given?) name we were told to try from having her hounded by the other passengers because it's her vacation with her son, and she wants to be left alone. They're on a two week vacation to a Wyoming Dude Ranch. We expect the worst.

She walks across the ramp as normal and unassuming as possible (for a famous chick) holding her son's hand )maybe 5 years old?) and pointing out airplanes and stuff on the airport. Stops to chat with the FO at the bottom of the airstair (I guess to ask if it's OK to show her son the flight deck). She stops at the door, son in her arms and asks if it would be OK to let him see inside. I say let him in the FO's seat for a minute. I light up the Chritmas tree for him and make the GPWS talk and get ops on the radio to say hi. She couldn't have been any cooler. Trying not to be inconsiderate, she scoops him up, says thanks and heads to the back. Since the back row (row 9) has three seats together, she comes back and asks if it would be OK if they all sit together. We work it out for her and she sits down.

Now, the son had like 3 boxes of popcorn and a mega-size drink, which I figure is going to end up all over the floor for us to clean up.

We get to Sheridan after a bit of a bumpy ride, and everyone gets off the plane except them. We find them in the back cleaning up any and all of the Popcorn from the floor (nobody does this) AND they have been working real hard to keep the THREE sick bags that the kid filled during the flight from spilling in the back.

Jodie makes TWO trips to make sure everything is fully cleaned up and APOLOGIZES for any mess or distraction they may have caused.

I know I've had Joe accountant, his Biotch wife and their spoiled brat get on board giving everyone attitude the entire flight, then leave behind six boxes worth of crushed animal crackers and even used sick baqs filled with urine for the crew to clean up-at least a hundred times. But I'll always remember the Super-Rich, Super-Famous, Super-Down-to Earth woman I got to take to Sheridan that day. It was an absolute pleasure.

Johnny Cochran from ALB to BUF it was my first trip as a capt. Landed in BUF and the Pax Service Unit (the panel above the seats with the FA call button and light switches) fell down and hit him in the head. Then I herd the FA ask him, infront of 36 other pax, if OJ was really innocient as he was waiting to deplane. I was like great, this is gonna be a phone call or carpet dance.

When I was flying 135 I had a Delaware Senator (don't remember his name) from DCA - SBY - ILG. He was going to SYB for a dinner party and then home. When he got to the FBO in SBY he didn't see that there was a small curb walking from the FBO to the ramp and fell flat on his face, when I helped him up I realized he was drunk off his rocker. His aide/assstant guy who also helped him to his feet just rolled his eyes and was like not again.

When I was a kid back in 85 I was nonreving on UAL. My sister and I were on an empty DC-10 from PHL to IAD, empty except that OJ was sitting across from us in first class. I remember my older sister asking him if he was OJ the football player, he was very nice and talked to us the whole way down to IAD. It was the summer of 85, 9 years prior to the famous car chase.

Saw Dan Rather in DCA running to catch shuttle.

Back in '97 I was a supervisor at SBN for United Express. Muhammad Ali's assistant came in and left keys for the car they had parked at the SBN Airport since he was coming in on the last ORDSBN flight (at the time they lived in Benton Harbor).

So here I am, carrying Muhammad Ali's car keys all day - he and his wife were flying in. We had a kid working there, to whom Mr Ali walked on water. I told him that he was flying in that night, and if he wants - he can give him his car keys. He got an autograph, a picture of him and Mr Ali, and got to give him his car keys :)

Saw him (Ali) this spring at ORD getting off a RedRock (National Airlines) from flight from LAS - everyone just stared, a few shook his hand, and all clapped as he got on the golf cart and headed down the concourse.

Saw Tom Chambers on a PHXDFW flight on DL 10 yrs ago - sitting in coach, in a middle seat (and he's really tall).

Sinbad (the Comedian) at SBN.

Checked-in William Shatner (Capt James T Kirk) for a SBN-ORD-LEX flight after a notre dame football game in '97 - he looked so old.

Tony Robbins (motivational speaker) on an AC flight LAXYYZ a few years back - he is really friggin tall.

I have seen (some I have talked to and the rest just passed by in the halls):

Harrison Ford (seemed pretty nice): He was nice enough to pose for some pictures with one of our VPs (at the time) who was a very big fan. When I told my mom about talking to Harrison Ford, she got really mad at me for not asking him for an autograph for her. He's one of her favourite actors. What can I say...I was in uniform and didn't want to seem caught up in celebrity madness.

William Hurt: flew in with his Seneca V. Nice guy.

Kurt Russell: Nice guy. Stayed and chatted with some of the guys. I heard (didn't see though) he flew in with his Conquest (I think).

Goldie Hawn: Nice gal. Had a smoke and chatted with some of the guys while on the ramp waiting to go.

For the sports fans (especially hockey fans):
The entire Toronto Maple Leafs: Just came in after a loss and some were not in the best of moods. Chatted with Pat Quinn (head coach and GM), Mats Sundin (Captain), and Darcy Tucker. Darcy Tucker came up and asked me about one of the planes parked out on the ramp. Btw, it was a CF-18. The rest of the guys were nice enough to either smile or say hi. We also got to eat their untouched leftover catering. Man, they have good food!!! :D

LA Kings and the Ottawa Senators (during the playoffs).

Being an Air Ambulance pilot, I guess it's kind of good that none of these people were on my plane. ;)
