"Bad Rumours" ????!!

WTF are you talking about? What do you know?? Were you fired? FYI, those NOT fired/furloughed are paid ok, those fired/terminated/furloughed were NOT paid their pay, their 30 days for lack of notice OR their legitimate company expenses. This is NOT rumour this is fact and this is abhorrent behavior, the worse I have ever seen from any company. I have talked directly to Bill A, (MEC) and to many of those effected today who confirmed as fact this "rumour"

Shut the F up if you don't know the reality and stop spreading anti-truth BS

No need to have an attitude. I was terminated. Like I said, eveyone I talked with didn't have any pay issues. Sorry to hear that there are guys/gals that are.

Everyone just calm down. (pause) Well mate, if your looking for a job still, as your profile suggests, please take a few minutes to go to the World Airways website and inquire about the application process. From a little inside information, they are having an shortened interview process for you current GAC MD11 guys. With those quals, you will go to the front of the line. If the A/C they are looking to acquire come thru and the FAA approves a shortened training course you could be in class before the end of July. And no, this is not based on GAC A/C.

If you have already or plan to persue this, good luck!

I think that person should refile their expense report or stop spreading bad rumors. I've been reimbursed for all my expenses including ones on my personal card. That includes the expense report I put in yesterday that was approved for payment on my next(and last) paycheck. So has most everyone else I've spoken with. By the way, it hasn't been months since the cards were cancelled. It was only about a week and a half ago...right about the time the big announcement came along.

That person I'm talking about is JJ. And it is not rumor.

1st: They furlough without warning
2nd: They don't pay back wages
3rd: They don't even pay valid expense claims for travel and hotels.

Whats ALPA doing?

Anyone at Gemini who wants a personal recommend for a job at WOA. PM Me.

Palm Tree and Dutch thanks for the info and thanks for returning this to a civil intelligent conversation instead of a bunch of personal attacks.

Is World going to interview anymore current and qualified MD11 drivers, and if so when ?

I certainly understand it from World's point of view, they save a bunch on training costs. They also get the inside scoop on everyone they interview-you know what's this guy really like on an 18 day road trip or a back to back month out for over 30 days.

So if I missed the first call any hope ?

There is always hope mate.

TJSatter can give you more detailed info, I'm sure. The word is that they should know by Fri. if these A/C are coming to us. If it pans out they want to interview again in mid July. I'm sure they are wanting as many qualified 11 guys as they can get.

You'll never know until you try, right?

Good Luck,

PtP

Thanks. I sent my stuff to World on Sunday, so now I'm just hoping for a call.

Bad news, WOA first year pay, good news, never having to buy a drink online for a year. I look forward to buying former GAC crewmembers a round or ten.

GAC crews have any questions about WOA feel free to pm.

Sure beats Omni's 1st year pay!

Can't agree more but that little white speck on the top of chicken sh*t is still just chicken sh*t. 1st year should be better everywhere just about. Why in this industry should have to collect food stamps your first year to prove your worth.

It is amazing, isn't it? A friend who's spent 10 years as an electrical engineer, earned his MS in Computer Science along the way has gone from a $35K/yr 1st year puke.. to a $145,000 department supervisor with not more than what he claims is average ambition..

I and many of my friends, have spent the last 10 years accumulating type ratings, hours, command time, international time, etc.. and now that we've lost our job we're looking at $22/hr RJ jobs and if we're lucky a crap hole like Omni might pay us $3000/mo to fly all over the world 2/3's of the month gone from our families! Keep this God forsaken industry! I'm going to fly corporate for the rest of my life!

I disagree, regarding the debt and I may add all significant operational support effectively ended when the GAL transaction closed. M-P picked the operation with the highest labor costs, and deliberately tanked it.

World and NAA - if they are profitable now - are only so because of the HUGE windfall of business they recieved as a result of the lion's share of the AMC flying being re-directed to those properties. They'll look like hero's when they launch the IPO - at the expense of 2,500 ATA employees and their families.

How are our former DC-10's working out for you, by the way?

and MP is behind the Chemtrails:rolleyes: too!

look, before this last downturn, your management couldn't even get ATA out of the red even when all of the other airlines were well in the black. your airline was poorly managed. BTW; this is not commentary on the pilots of ATA. I'm sorry that it happened to you and your comrades.....there by the grace of god go I and all of that stuff. but, don't start making up wacko conspiracy theories and drag your fellow pilots down, sheesh!

Strangest thing... just got a packet from "Trustee Services Inc" in Hollywood FL outlining. I've never gotten something like this from the other airline I worked for that liquidated under Ch 7

WOA is hiring, buying planes, and growing...
GAC is furloughing, parking planes, and in BK.
I wonder where the problem is?;)

I am not sure I would read too much into it as on thier best day WOA's management is just slightly less F**KED up than the others and that is optimistic even. The war fell in thier laps and they managed not to screw it up.

Martinez still bought NAA while it was loosiing money then thier books were so screwed up he got us delisted because we could not meet S&O standards for the SEC. Yea its best day still incompetent.

NAA was not losing money, where did you get that from?

Man I so want to get behind that a$$ in your avitar!

What were we talking about now..?

hey guys, Kalitta Air is hiring and the last Capt upgrade bid went to two new hires, class starts July 15.
New hire classes every other month.

What is the capt pay like at Kalitta? Just curious why are new hires getting capt slots; is it due to growth?

Don't work there. But if you've been following the threads, they had some good attrition during the the most recent "hiring boom", as well as guys that were on furlough going back to their jobs. They are also taking new aircraft in the form of 747-400's. Gotta crew them somehow. But I don't know if it's "new hires" getting the CA slots. I thought they were going into the 400 AS FO's due to seat locks, etc. Where did you get that info?

I asked the question before, the new aircraft are for expansion, not replacement. Or so I was told.

I was one of the two. Its not new new hires but less than a year at the company. I think thats what Guam was talking about. We are not hiring street captains as of yet.

Hey Guam, are you gonna take the next one? If so, give me a call and I'll tell you as much as I can......although you might actually have to go to Europe and not just S.A.

O.K., I just re-read what Guam said, for the July 15th class maybe they are new hires. Haven't seen it yet.

for one I work there, and two, I am in the next upgrade class, and they went through the entire seniority list to fill the class. the two bottom guys were hired in Feb. A new hire class starts July 7, (14), hiring in the classic. the -400 is full for now. alot of new hires went to the 400 , but are still waiting IOE. like 25 guys are waiting.

Feb new hires are still doing IOE on the classic....

anyway, good over here, I hope this helps some of you...! good luck out there.

yea, in there.

South America was good, just did Europe, it is good in the summer.

Thanks again Bro!

Any clue how long it take to get an interview with Connie?
And I am still current on the -200.

If you have sent your stuff in and are current, I'm suprised you haven't got a call yet. I've got friends who walked peoples stuff in that were current and they got phone calls within a couple of hours, if it was a work day of course. If you haven't yet, send it in today, might not get a call today but you probably will. If you have sent it, send it again. The training dept. is so busy it wouldn't suprise me if they lost a resume right now. Good luck!
