I disagree that it's refreshing. What you're seeing from the uSAPa guys is a willingness to go the mat alright......in order to violate the terms of their transition agreement and go back on their word about complying with a binding arbitration. There's nothing honorable in that.

But even if you think these guys are the frickin' second coming, then as SaturnPilot has pointed out, all you have to do is recall your current reps and replace them with the uSAPa boneheads that you adore so much. Changing the logo on the letterhead will accomplish you nothing but further disarray.

PCL, Mclain was voted out after he sold us down the river. We fly airplanes and PAY people to take care of our negotiations in OUR best interests.

Unfortunately we don't find out that they suck (or have a hidden agenda , age 65 for example) at that particular job until after the damage is done (ala NW BK aftermath).

USAPA is backing into this deal and aren't relying on managements rhetoric. They understand the situation and have decided what they are willing to do. I think that there are a lot of Bush generation pilots in ALPA out there that think that they are powerless.

And future uSAPa reps will do the exact same thing. The cancer is in the elected reps, not in the Association itself.

West pilots seem to discount their lack of familiarity with the retards who make up AAA ALPA. You guys take the easy track on here act like ALPA is ALPA. Not so. I don't claim any first hand knowledge of AWA's ALPA. From all outside appearances, they seem like a professional, rational group. However, after nine years of dealing with AAA ALPA, I can tell you that most of us over here have had it! Done. Finished.

So, you guys can play here on FI and make ridiculous accusations about "seniority grabs," (yeah, 1986 is trying to "grab" a spot senior to 2004. That's a real a$$hole for you). In the mean time, the NMB will be working on an election.

And that will be the end of this airline...sad real sad...you eastholes are a bunch of whiney bitc***....

Well, at least the West pilots will have an advantage geting new jobs.............

No One in their right mind would hire a bunch of whiney ass geriatric pricks that burned their company to the ground!

.

You guys crack me up.....Oooooh, the end of the airline......Oooooh, only west pilots will get hired elsewhere. Right.

So, back on Earth, we have a real problem with a bloated, bureaucratic union that has long since stopped representing its members. It lives only for itself. We are going to get rid of it.

The only reason West pilots are big ALPA lovers right now is Nic. They want that seniority real bad. Unfortunately, that award will never see the light of day. Never. It was unfair, and everyone seems to know that whether or not they admit it. Even you dramatic, emphatic west posters here on FI make it pretty clear: you're standing there with a lottery ticket about the size of an A330 that you can't wait to cash. On who's back are you riding? Where are all the profits made? What changed the day after the merge that made East so profitable that it is able to support your money losing operation? (BTW: where's our thank you for the profit sharing you get, even though you guys don't make money? Yeah, I never see you boys talking about that on FI.)

Whatever, anyway, you aren't going to be ALPA anymore, but you are going to be better off long term. I know you boys will go nuts here in the FI playroom and cry that it's not true.....but, it's true.

All of the posters here who say USAPA will be the same as ALPA are uneducated about the new structure. Very different animal, USAPA, and it will result in a better contract, a better relationship with the company, and something ALPA will never have: accountability. You can never get to the bottom of what happens within ALPA; it's complicated by design. We are going to stop the gravy train for these idiots.

But don't be so scared....god it's really getting annoying. Let it go. All you have is one vote. Whatever happens, it will be fair. It will be democratic. It will be what the majority wants, right?

It will be what the majority wants, right?
Let's say there is a group of five people. Four of them are men, and one is a woman. The group takes a vote. All four men vote in favor of raping the woman. The woman, of course, votes against it. Is this a fair outcome simply because the majority voted in favor? This is essentially what's going on at USAirways. The majority on the East is voting in favor of raping the minority on the West. The courts will eventually determine that what you're trying to do is a breach of DFR, and the new "union" will be bankrupt.

A very disgusting analogy.
