The concern isn't now. It is 10-20 years from now and beyond...
Really? You have that much faith in ALPA to "take it back" as opposed to our counterparts overseas?

Wasnt Condi Rice down in Columbia a couple days ago discussing free trade act with them. Wow way to go Reps protecting that American worker. How about a little while ago Jesus Bush was down in India stating that we intended to import more jobs to India.
Wasn't King Hillary on the board at Wal-mart but dropped out when it became a political liability? Under Clinton's watch the proliferation of US jobs left and NO party has done anything to stop it or try to get it back. The Dems care about labor about as much as they do minorities. It is all lip service and symbolism. Both parties pimp off the hopes and fears.
PCL, I agree that politics has become "what can you do (or in some cases won't do!) for me?". Sad to see that the common Joe has stooped to that level though.
If Prater is the problem (and he is), then you should work on getting rid of him instead of the union itself. You can thank Prater for that.

Many pilots in Russia work second jobs just to pay the bills. How happy do you think they'd be if they could get paid half of what we make to fly our old routes? Don't kid yourself. Just because some countries pay top dollar for American pilots right now doesn't mean that open skies wouldn't be a threat.Rez, but is it really a threat?

Always a broken record with you, Joe. Always...
I hate Wal-Mart and really dislike the Clinton. Reality is however that our proffession has be protected more by Democrates than Republicans. If it was up to McCain pilots couldnt strike, if it was up to Bush there would be open skies with the rest of the world. Remember who brought you open skies. Right now its not looking too bad because our dollar is so misreably weak. Dont worry the corporations will take care of you.[/quote
Amen! Somebody that gets it. He's right about McCain. I like him as a person but I will not vote for him because he'll help to destroy my career even further.
I think that as Union workers, we are better off with the lesser of the two evils, the Democrats. Actions of the last 8 years speak for themselves. Mediators that won't release groups for self help, Judges that favor stripping workers of their life savings while executives come out with huge golden parachutes. I'm sorry, all that other stuff seems like smoke and mirrors if my paycheck is being affected. I will no longer vote with my emotions, rather with my career and my paycheck.:erm:
YGTBFSM!That's right, because it is the same old thing over and over again.... ALPA members replace each other for "half the pay".....
Same old John, different day!ALPA fails to stop it.....Then ALPA says..forget about that.... we have to stop cabotage....because foreign pilots will replace us for half the pay...... News flash PCL....they already do, and they are wearing union pins......
How about a $$multimillion lawsuit, after all, it works so well and pilots always make out on that deal right? How are you going to stop it internationally when you can't stop it domestically...???
No, the broken record is YOU John! Still up to your baby tactics! No wonder you can't get hired anywhere but ASA!The broken record is you and Rez.....well that is all the pilots fault....get behind ALPA so we can stop the next crises....even though we haven't stopped any of the current ones.....
YGTBFSM!
This from a guy who's an officer in a group who "sued" to do just the same thing!
GMAFB!

Rez, but is it really a threat?
It's YOU'RE, you MORON!Seems to be getting to you....
RJDC didn't "sue to do just the same thing"..... Those of us at ASA and CMR have already replaced mainline pilots for less pay.....These jobs we do were mainline jobs....Your just too stupid to realize that the damage has already been done......
Wow, and it seems like who got screwed? I've moved up over 4000 numbers in almost 7 years! What about you sport? The Delta seniority list is about 3500 pilots less than it was 7 years ago.....Replacement has been going on and continues to go on.....
And your solution....Stealing minutes and crying like the little child that you are? How's that working for ya?Forgive me if I don't get to worked up about a possible replacement problem 5 years down the road...ALPA can't even deal with the current problem....
That's right John, and it exists because the PWA allows it! If anyone here should be mad, its the DAL pilots, yet you and the rest of the girls seem to be crying the loudest! My job already is a Delta replacement job.....
Sounds like you need to get some "scope" of your own. Instead of trying to eliminate it, you should be trying to have it. But you're too stupid to realize that! Many union and non-union pilots are trying to replace my current job....even you mainline folks have resorted to underbidding regional rates in order to "recapture" the flying......
Then you and the rest of the girls in Cresent Springs can have your circle jerk all over again!:beer:Just wait till the next round of mergers in a downward economy with 100 dollar oil....It's going to be a bloodbath.....amongst "union brothers"......
It never fails...Your just too stupid...
On crewroom.alpa.org is a relatively new link... NAM IFLAPA.... NAM = North American region...
Is it a threat.. I think it is...
consider spending a few minutes checking it out and choose for yourself....![]()
....so there is a threat of pilots replacing other pilots for less pay......say it ain't so.....
....I propose a study committee to study the issue immediately.....let's call it the BCIC (Bilateral Cabotage Impact Committee).....
......oh and pilots....when you get done cutting each others throats over age60, scope, mergers, and political endorsements.....we need to get involved....because this is all your fault and poor ALPA needs the help......
It's YOU'RE, you MORON!
And the only reason you're getting to me is that you play the same fiddle over and over again, acting like the spoiled little brat that you are! No wonder you are stuck at ASA while your f/o's are getting hired at other major/legacy carriers, while your career, much like your lawsuit has failed miserably!
