You are finally agreeing that the nic was devastating to the east and we have grief and the KR model.
I don't doubt your grieve but it was self-inflicted. Your expectations were inflated due to wildly high self-importance and entitlement.

I agree 100% with you Dave about it being a good place. I enjoy my trips and for the most part enjoy everyone I work with. Yes even with a GOP House of Reps the NMB is going to have to finally work with us.

Has Doug accepted the DOH list yet? Or even entertaind the idea of accepting the DOH list yet? Been out of the loop for a while and just curious if anything has changed.

Guys I don't have a dog in this fight. We're up to page 23. I've read about both sides and I'm not going to chime in one way or the other. But my question is if you guys can get past this? Can you flip a coin or duke it out? What is needed so you guys can get past this? I have an interview coming up soon....So I'm interested.
Good luck to you guys.
David

If you are at any regional, it will be worth coming here if you can swallow the first year pay. All the new hires in my class and the classes directly behind me are hoping this gets resolved at some point, hopefully by a merger with AA. One of the East posters claims the new-hires want to keep the Nic away to harvest attrition, but I haven't seen or heard that once in the circle of 30-40 or so new hires I've run in. I think that might just be some USAPA echo-chamber nonsense. The new hires seem to be focused on long-term careers.

USAir, decades of horrible pay..... horrible atmosphere.....good luck

Horrible pay, yes. The atmosphere as a new-hire has been excellent and I've enjoyed my few months on the line with all of my crews.

I would pass on US. The "union" is not capable or interested in raising payrates or improving conditions. You will do much better at virtually any other airline. Quickly making captain wears off quickly when you're making 1/2 of the wage you could have had with any other airline.

If the AMR merger goes through, the whole mess will start over and the dysfunction will increase exponentially. There is absolutely no evidence that a merger will improve anything for US pilots long-term. And absent a merger, the "Union" will continue to extract money from the pilots and giving back only to a select few senior F/O's.

Move on and don't look back.

So you've made a lateral move to a regional that flies a handful of large aircraft.

Yippee, I'll bet it's all you ever dreamed of. :(

I know you feel it's terrible here and it is by far the WORST of the Legacies, but reserve here is far better than being a middle of the pack line holder at the regionals. I don't regret my move one bit, ask me again in a few more years of USAPA continuing to keep us from getting the pay and contract we deserve.

Meanwhile, I'll fly and keep my resume and applications updated elsewhere.

Wow Dave that is a step in the right direction! You are finally agreeing that the nic was devastating to the east and we have grief and the KR model. Thanks for understanding. If you agree that it was devastating to us then you must also agree that the west got a huge windfall as well (your 2 month guy in training being the captain of our 16.4 year guys).

Not so fast, Chuck. While the Nicolau may be perceived as a devastating event by you & many other east pilots, that does not make it fact. Just opinion.

I understand that the AAA MEC taught the AAA pilots that Date of Hire was a "lock". I understand that Arbitrator Nicolau instructed the AAA MC that Date of Hire was NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, and yet they (AAA MEC) continued to lead the AAA pilots that DOH was the way it was going down.

The devastation was self taught & self imposed. The two most junior employed pilots that brought a job to the merger were placed right next to each other (Mondus & O'Dell). How is that a windfall??

This will finish, and in the correct legal way. The DOH will lose ultimately, and we will ALL have lost Hundreds of Millions in pay, benefits & time off.

Sad.

It's supposed to be incomparably better than any regional!!!

That's the whole reason folks sweat it out instructing and then dodging storms in a clapped out 310 full seat belt buckles headed to Cleveland, then sitting on the slowly creeping career moving sidewalk called the regionals. The only thing keeping US from being a top-tier career is a couple hundred selfish senior F/O's on the east who ginned up USAPA in the first place and their 3000 ignorant and equally selfish co-workers who enable them (through their tacit approval) to hold the rest of the airline hostage to their indefensible and unreasonable demands. They know full well that if the pilots could vote on the MOU offer w/Nic, it would pass overwhelmingly.

You (and I) worked too hard to inherit someone else's raw deal in perpetuity.

Hamas is a great analogy to USAPA.

Actually you are somewhat on the right anaolgy just reversed - aren't the Westies always accusing the East of occupying their "lawfully awarded Captains Seat"?

You should go on youtube and watch some of those video's showing Hamas blowing themselves up by accident - sort of like those dumb videos the West has put out - especially that last music rapping video of some Westies trying to sing.

Doug is focused on AA.

APA is focused on DOH + 2 advantage for them in the event of a merge.

So says the returning furloughee that feels it's his right to steal a few hundred west postions. I doubt you'll find many new hires interested in your brand of delusion.

Your credibility is virtually non existant.

Why give advice you wouldn't follow yourself?
I would have loved to have advice many many years ago that someday a group of so-called pilots would coalesce into a group made in the image of Lorenzo to attack fellow pilots and let their selfishness drag down the entire profession. But I had optimism and confidence in the brotherhood of pilots that that would never happen.

That confidence has obviously been misplaced.
