Mexicanflyboy's broken English is sometimes not so broken, and his Spanish is poor at best. He's a troll.

The US media has never been remotely reliable...who would possibly think anything gleaned out of a Mexican paper any more so?

With a current investigation under way, why sully the reputation of two pilots and introduce unsubstantiated rumor? Speculation is unprofessional.

Try a little decorum.

We agree, but I think that at times, mostly after the reports are out, that speculation can be educational. The NTSB doesn't always get it right, but they try real hard.

I never said it was true, i said it was on a newspaper and that it was werid, if anyone had heard anything about it, i was asking, not making a statement...r.ead my post again please.

well see what happens after the NTSB report, and in case (i hope not) but just i case it turns out to be true (again, i hope not) i would be happy to meet the guy who wants be to meet him behing the hanger....that would be fun

While I am sure that you had no bad intentions, I think the point is that by posting the link you are promoting rumors. Of course this is aviation, so there are no shortage of those anyways. Pilots love rumors and dirty laundry.

A simple "I hope not" or "This is pure speculation" or even "I don't think this is the case" would have made your post alot easier to stomach.

not outside NTSB

The US Govt. hasn't heard the CVR?

Curious.
Yes NTSB has done the initial reading of the CVR, but no one has any info on what was on the tape. It is under the control of the Mexican Gov't who it leading the investigation. BTW The newspaper report has the Capt's name wrong and the CVR only has a 30 minute overwrite tape, so how would anyone know what went on for 7 hours? This is all BS

Hey Fernando,
My post was not directed at you but rather whomever you were quoting....But as pilotyip indicated cvr's are on a 30 minute loop so it is easy to see the person(s) who slandered my friend know as much about aviation as they do about common decency.

Yeah, i know that a lot of it doesnt make sence, but with my post i was just notifyng you guys of this new thing that came out on that paper, i know for a fact that getting info on plane crashes from a newspaper is not a good or smart thing, but again, i just wanted to comment on this...

and i found it specially interesting cause i had heard this version barely 2 or 3 days after the accident, from someone in ATC, i didnt even ask how they had came out with this.....

and now that i read it i was thinking that maybe the reporter got it from that same source, and figuring out that it came from someone who worked in aviation, it must be true,so he went ahead and published it without much thinking...

but again, im just assuming thats what happened....

other reports

the papers also reported around the time of the accident, That the crew had mistaken the road for the runway, that they were on fire in flight, that they had exploded in flight before impact, and that one of the engines had failed. None of these were true either.

Since you seem to know what actually happend, why don't you share with the rest of us?
