The additional 15 is to cover IRO positions on the wide bodies. Obviously those are upward movements on the seniority list, hence more 190 FOs needed.

right..but absent another bid, i forsee many of the 30 bypassers accepting a widebody IRO position.

There must be another bid in the works soon because I have heard that the latest letters for the next 15 state the recall is for the 190.

Recalls are for 190 positions only. If recalls continue at a reasonable rate, then recently recalled pilots may be allowed to bid another aircraft if the company decides to waive the 12 month training freeze.

So how much longer until the poolies are going to be contacted?

Impossible to predict. All East and West must be offered and bypass a class. If they keep offering only 190 positions I would think they would get through the list quicker than if they start offering group 2. If they offer group 2 more will come back because they must accept the recall when they start from the bottom of the list or lose recall rights forever.

Either way rumors abound about lots of additional pilots to be recalled/hired next year but we all know how rumors work. Maybe some truth to them or maybe not.

Just too many pieces of the puzzle. For your sake and ours I hope things bust wide open soon!

FAIL FAIL FAIL

Promptly ignore all of the above posts. The company ain't gonna waive crap out of the benevolence of their hearts. Come on now.

They are gonna spend upwards of $50,000 in training costs to get each of the 104 FO's typed and trained on the E-190. They are then going to make every last one of them rot in the right seat of that aircraft until the very limit the CBA permits them to.

I cannot believe there is someone who still thinks any airline management team would do something above and beyond a CBA limitation that would result in an unnecessary negative effect on the bottom line, just to "help a brotha out."

Insert facepalm ...mhea.

Someone here is in need of watching this...

I keep in touch with many of my classmates who are currently in training. Every indication they have been given by company personnel indicate the company will waive the 12 month training freeze. I agree they don't have to and I would be somewhat surprised if they did. However, that is what they seem to be strongly indicating.

Take it for what it is worth.

By the way, the recent EVLA returns were given group 2 aircraft even through there were no openings. The company decided to give them what they could hold regardless of the lack of openings. The company had every right to place them on the 190 but chose not to.

Well, sir in that case, I have reason to continue to view your statements with both esteem and respect. Permit me to remain doubtful and astonished about this coming to fruition.

I have a strong suspicion that the long 2 year famine is about to more resemble a feast, even if a new contract is not to be soon forthcoming (it isn't). Your statements are further evidence of such. Let's pray it comes true!

Just be clear- I wonder why the company would waive the seat lock when they don't have to and it would seem to cost them additional training costs and tie up pilots in training when they could be flying the line. Nevertheless, they seem to indicate they will waive the seat lock. We shall find out if and when it becomes an issue. If they don't, 12 months goes by pretty quick.

Not in PHL when you want to be anyplace but, including with your young child. Not at all.
