I've never seen porn in a doctor, lawyer or other professional's office, just wondering why it's appropriate in ours.

Because a pilot doesn't fly an airplane from where the passengers sit.
 
United got what it derserved. United is well known for hiring under deserving pilots, catering to the political wind. When you don't hire to meet the qualifications in which you need, you get the qualifications you ask for...

another miserable bitch....my first airline IOE Capt was female...and she hid more porn in the flight deck nooks and crannies than most of us...go figure...

Right and you work for who?? Airtran? best you could do? or did every other major airline you applied for turn you down because they hired under qualified pilots.
I'd wager the qualifications of the average applicant hired at UAL were a tad higher then you would want to admit. But you keep telling yourself otherwise if that makes you feel any better.
