His attempt at subtle manipulation is pretty lame.

After quite a while "looking over the shoulder" of a SIC who frequents this board, I've paid my ten bucks for a chance to swim with the sharks. Seems to me that there are a lot of folks here with very strong opinions on the whole pro/anti union business, and I feel that I can add some useful input from the perspective of one who has been through the whole process (I'm a Flight Options pilot, not a mgt pilot or a union committee member, just a line dawg) but really, truly, could not care less whether Flex and CA organize or not. Thanks, all, for making this board interesting, and I look forward to some interesting discussions. (and my apologies for taking the thread momentarily off topic. Since Flex appears to be closest to a vote, I thought that this thread would be most appropriate to jump into.)
What?! You paid $10.00 to join FI? (I thought joinging was free) Most of the 50,000 pilots on here would not pay $1.00 to be able post their "opinions". I tell people to go post on the "other" board-FI light-its free and more moderated for your pleasure.![]()
What, and miss out on all the unfounded rumors, childish name calling and hideous spelling/grammar to be found here???
Seriously, though, I'm not sure which other board you are referring to. You mean the Flops IBT board? That one pretty much died after the CBA was signed.
Well, since you lemmings think all non-union fracs have a slave-masttuh(sp) relationship, I'm just trying to live up to your expectations. But you Mr.P, your a class act by yourself.

NoJoy...
I gotta say. That Chuck Norris thing is really cracking me up for some reason.
... Just sayin'.
My, My, the PC folks and assorted lemmings are in high dungeon. Let's look at the chain of events. A couple of the real sharp lemmings have posted here that Flex(and other) non-unions companies have a master-slave relationship. THAT, to me and most of the rest of adult Americans who work union-free(about 90%), is what is offensive. I've yet to hear an apology, nor do I expect one from this crowd. My post was a spoof of that “relationship” using language I hear every day AND from one of my favorite novels 'Huckleberry Finn'....Slave Jim would understand.
And Flex-wife, it seems your PC trained-mind wouldn't let an original idea or opposing opinion ever see the light of day, so I choose to remain “unenlightened” in all matters so dear to you.
And gret, where is your PC hat. Thanks.

Hey doh. I had to take some time off to read the PC Bible, er, PC Manual. It's a pretty interesting read if you can't get to sleep some night. But talking about unions, the CA string has some adult conversation going on there if you are still interested in this sort of thing. It looks like the effort this year at Flex is dead, but there's always next year. I think the majority of our pilots have weighed both sides and, again, have come to the right conclusion.

I'll bite. What's the uh-oh mean?
Ask a CA how that worked for us. We voted for a union almost a year ago. No CBA and layoffs are on their terms. It would have been really nice to have that CBA with this RIF eh guys? Now you know why we were trying so hard for the union to get on the property. The workforce reduction would have probably still happened but, it would have been on our terms not just their terms. !
nnGood news for Flex, bad news for NJA, as Flex will be able to compete more efficiently.
LOL :erm:nn
Dewey Wins!!!!!!!!
Eff-Off!! Gazi
Union wouldn't do Jack-Squat on layoffs. Since Texas is a "Right-To-Work state" I'll negotiate my on terms Didn't you follow the Wisconsin election...duh!?!
The union at CA is essentially dead. Don't know how many are paying dues but based on the post on the IBT site, which is only allowed to members in good standing, I.e. paying dues, I guess the figure is pretty low. Most are spending their time looking for other employment rather than worrying about getting a CBA. At this point, my feeling for Flex voting for a union is its a moot point. We are all screwed, but it has been fun.
