Just heard that UAL signed a T/A (or side letter?) with the pilots regarding bringing LCO pay/duty rigs/work rules on par with mainline. True? If so, congrats!

Hey Muscle Man,

I needed a break from HDGs, ADPs, RATs, Utility Buses, Isolation Valves, etc, etc, What better place to take a break than on Flt Info? :-)

See ya at the gym this week. Wear your tight spandex again.

P.s. UAL pilots, congrats this is great news!

LCO=Any domestic NB. :eek:

That operation has been Hell on Earth since the Ch.11. TC

Does LCO = Ted??? I thought they were the same list...... Guess I was way off.

It is all the same list. The LCO is comprised of the 737 fleet, and the 320..mainline paint and TED. And it had B-scale work rules just for those narrow body fleets.

MEC ratified the TA at their ORD meeting, 1/23/08. It's a done deal. One step in the right direction. Unfortunately did not contain merger protection language.

The Pig.

When will you get new hire pay up from poverty level? Is it being discussed? I've been hearing that the pool of applicant's isn't what it used to be which means that the company might listen to the union on this. No offense to those hired- i've just heard it's been rough financial road for you guys.

Is 7500 hours /1500 T-PIC and 2 types good enough?

I think by "pool of applicants" he meant that there aren't 10,000 resumes on file, more like 2,500. Not that we aren't qualified.

thanks mike- that is what i meant.
my true point is that i think 1st year pay needs to go away to increase our leverage in negotiations industry wide. how many of us actually go through 1ST year pay only once? our leverage in collective bargaining is our right to vote to walk away collectively- and always individually. it's difficult enough to give up whatever seniority you might have- but it would be a LOT easier if we knew that the next job didn't start you out in the gutter. Besides, i'm all for paying dues-- but haven't we paid enough dues by the time we get to the majors these days?
I'll say it in EVERY way i can. We need to make it easier to change companies or else the race to the bottom will continue.
