I didn't read the whole thread, but my guess is that if United mainline pilots demand RJ flying, and they get rights to RJ flying, things won't change much, except fee for departure. Skywest is already code sharing with Air Tran, flying as Skywest Airlines. My guess is that United will never see RJ's, but if they negotiated away other things to get RJ rights, airlines like Skywest will continue to do the flying under their own brand through code shares. There is no scope for stuff like that, that's a management decision.
