Well I just took 89 TFP for July and turned it into 100 via ELITT so I like like...I do not drop trips I pick up trips from ELITT so how is that hurting the company? Would have picked up more but had other obligations for the month..I do not mind flying weekends so it helps me.
 
What I wrote before is coming true. The "no" vote looks to be a very, very expensive decision.

Now we have Gary Kelly saying we're negotiating in a new environment (whups, I thought if we vote no the company was going to give us more money? Someone should tell the CEO, I don't think he got the message).

I've read that we have chief pilots saying that retro is now off the table, and to top it off:

23 captain downgrades in a month or so.

God only knows what that is going to do to the lances (does everyone get to keep their star? No? Yes? I thought many people voted no because of the lances, there were a little over 100 that would have lost their stars, where does this 23 fit in? Maybe over the next five months, the rest will lose their star, and we'll still not get our overdue pay raises. )

I've been been hearing from more and more that we just cut off our nose to spite our face.

In September, when your 6% raise doesn't show up (sorry 7% with the 401(k) bump) you can thank your lucky stars that we paid around $12,000 per year per pilot for a no vote. Sure was nice to save those lances. Well, 3/4th of them. Until September, then it might be 1/2 of them. Until January, where it might be...zero.
With whats going on with SouthWest right now how is this going to affect the guys in the hiring pool.
 
Well for the hiring pool, as of August this year we are projected to have reduced capacity by 8%. It will take a while to grow again back to that number. There is always a revolving door of pilots on MIL and medical and a few that took an early retirement. In my opinion unless something gives no hiring for a year or so, sorry.
 
Shaft....you need to wait until we see the new TA. Arguing the points of the rejected TA are useless. Once we see the new one, a comparison of how we did will be a beneficial discussion. If you were so concerned about "YOUR" money, you should have been pushing this discussion a few months ago! I fit into your category of a "1K+" a month loss, but the difference is that I don't see it as a loss. There were things that were wrong in this contract and I could not vote for it no matter how much it benefited me. I believe it was wrong for the pilots of SWA!

My buddy at the headquarters says that they don't even have a "pilot hiring" person anymore. They've basically shut the whole thing down. He told me that he's hearing that capacity won't be at 2008 levels until 2012. And that's when the next classes will be.
