Looks like we have an Agreement In Principle.

16 JULY 2011

Update From Steve, Aaron and Jason Fellow Pilots,

On this Saturday, June 16th, our Negotiating Committee has wrapped up a long and productive week delivering an integrated seniority list (ISL) agreement-in-principle (AIP) that will be presented to your Board of Directors for review. Before this can happen, the agreement must be taken from its current format to a full-language document. This will require a great deal of work over the next two weeks before being presented to your Board of Directors at a special meeting in the coming weeks. If the agreement has board approval, it will be forwarded to you for ratification.

This agreement meets the criteria set forth by our guiding principles, and protects the career value of all pilots.

For now, we appreciate your continued patience and professionalism. Fly safe!

Steve Chase, President
Aaron Anton, Vice President
Jason Pettit, 2nd Vice President

No, I won't. Anything better than the F9 staple offer is great for the Airtran guys. Not sad at all.

OYS

So if Delta had put in a bid to purchase a bankrupt F9, you would be on here telling us that a staple would not be reasonable in any regard, in your heart of hearts? I find that hard to believe.

And by the way, the staple was just the opener. Negotiations lasted not even one day, so no one, least of all a mouthy Delta pilot, knows what might have transpired next.

I know better than to try to employ logic with OYS, but what the hell.

If SWAPA will not allow any "harm" to come to any SWAPA pilot, why on Earth would anyone from SWAPA think that ATN ALPA would not demand the same thing for their pilots?

FACT: The ATN MEC has R-E-J-E-C-T-E-D the SWA Management SLI proposal. That means that it will not go out to the ATN pilot group for a vote, and rightly so. They won't send an unequitable and unfair proposal to our pilot group to vote on. Why would they? To waste time seeing it get voted down? Then we start over with a slightly better proposal and it too gets voted down. Where does it end?

The ATN MEC and MC will send us a proposal at some point that they feel is respectful of our pilot group if there is one to be had. If not, then we're all headed to federal arbitration where this will be settled by a neutral 3rd party. As I've stated time and time again, I have no problem with that.

Uhhh... Beavis...uhhhhh what just happened??:crying::crying::crying:

The deal that was reached was not the same as the proposal made on Tuesday.
