I believe the vast majority at AT are behind getting this done. I don't think you will see anything ALPA being on the minds of AT pilots. We know what we have to look forward too and are eager to get this completed. We know that small setbacks now will be overcompensated for with growth and strength in the future. We are and have been behind getting this done. The small minority will whine for a while till they realize how this works to their benefit, but they whine about EVERYTHING anyway. Thanks GK and both NC for your hard work and determination to work this out fairly and setting an example on how this can be done working together.

Cheers!

Glad to see the FI trannies are finally coming to their senses. Posturing in negotiations is one thing, but when you have no leverage you just look silly.

Take the staple, count your blessings for your good fortune and move the heck in with your lives already.

Unless alpa doesn't send it to the pilot group for a vote. Then I'm sure they will be on the minds of most of the AirTran pilots. Let's hope they do the right thing, so we can move on and get this thing behind us.

Anyone have any info at all at this point? We don't even know what the supposed deal is and I know someone has spilled the beans already...these are pilots for heaven's sake.

No ones talking... Maybe soon, something from your union!

It won't be ALPA not sending it to the pilots, it will be the duly elected reps and appointed MC that will be saving us from ourselves. In knowing all of them personally, I'm not at all concerned about any ALPA national pressure either way in their decision.

Wow BD, I really hope you are not related to SWA in any way. Your posts are nothing but inflammatory...and immature. Why you constantly beat the staple drum is beyond me but shows how out of touch you really are. It is the law of the land that staples will not happen (unless agreed to by both sides), and I am sure that is not part of the outcome. Get real, and if you somehow made it through to SWA, you better come to grips on what you will REALLY accept with the SLI. Tust our NC to bring real benefit to the SWA pilots, but again, be realistic.

I have told you guys 1000 times anything and I mean anything that gets to our pilot group will pass! This Airtran guy is cringing because he is well aware that ALPA can screw this up and not give the deal to the pilots.

In my world if GK is willing to show leadership and tell us what he wants... Then we give the man what he wants.

Assuming this deal gets done I have some honest questions for SWA guys.
1. When purchasing a yacht is it better to go new or used?
2. Can someone give me the name of a good Ferrari mechanic in Atlanta?
3. Nanny or opare? Really can't decide
4. Is it wrong to say "opulence I has it" over the PA during boarding?
5. Finally I'm in the market for an airport car at the crash pad Lamborghini or should I just get the simple R8 since it will most likely just sit at the airport?
Crashpad speaks for no one at AirTran except himself.

A crappy SLI will not pass MEMRAT at AAI despite what Crashpad, the consumate defeatist, thinks.

Out of curiosity what is your definition of a "crappy SLI." Operating 2 certificates would be my definition.

And I should stay off FI?, WTF :puke:

Then your definition is not grounded in reality. GK wants ONE airline, and has said that over and over. What lunch break have you been on?

FI is not the place to discuss the SLI. That too has been told to us by our union. ATN MC speaks for me.

We'll see for sure. Be interesting if this is a one time offer when the details are revealed. Could be a one and done, hard to tell.

Would "one and done" follow the process agreement?

Yes. SWA is under no obligation to negotiate with the two unions. They have made an offer. There is no guarantee they make any more offers in the process.

So we would then just continue on with the agreed to process right?

Yes. One and done from the company is a possibility, in fact, more likely a probability. Otherwise onward with the process and continued uncertainty on both sides.
Agreed. If this is in fact a "one and done" offer by GK, -and- it is not accepted by both unions, then we simply move on to arbitration. That is set forth in the Process Agreement that both sides signed onto and there is a finite date that said arbitration must commence by.

I hope GK sweetened the pot for both sides. I'd like to see an agreement made between the two MC's that goes back to the heart of the negotiations - Fair & Equitable. But...if that is not to be, then I am ready to go to arbitration.

We MUST have a harmonious combined pilot group. Do we really want to see a repeat of Reno Air/American Airlines from years past, or more recently, the toxic atmosphere between USA/AWA? I don't think anyone wants that.

Let's see what official information comes out from the two MC's over the next few days. It does none of us any good to speculate or grandstand.

Don (why waste time with direct negotiations or mediation) Vireta

Mind if I just call you spring loaded?

Gup

The meetings are adjourned for the night. I respect that many of the people in the know are letting the groups work this out without leaks.

Not spring-loaded Gup; just ready to go that route if need be, although hoping we don't have to.

I'll revisit the relevent sentence on that from my last post:

"I'd like to see an agreement made between the two MC's that goes back to the heart of the negotiations - Fair & Equitable. But...if that is not to be, then I am ready to go to arbitration."
