My problem is I remember too much too well. It's ridiculous that any SWA pilot critique my "tone" or "rants". Look who you're working for!! Herb is one if the biggest whiners this business has ever had!! I'm complaining only one gate was built for competing carriers at Hobby. Herb went bonkers over the gate situation at Stapleton! Not enough gates and they were too expensive, so he pulled y'all out and told Denver you'd be back "when cows fly". (google Herb K and the phrase "cold day in hell", it seemed a weekly threat) I know Herb is retired now, but everyone of you from GK down is a Herb disciple. If Herb was on the receiving end of this BS in Hobby he'd be in an Elvis costume piss drunk and screaming at news cameras. So spare me the slack jaw BS guys. SWA is the worst offender when it comes to over the top dramatics about fair treatment.

SWA is footing the bill for the terminal (about 156 mil). Why would/should they spend their money to build a bunch of gates for other airlines. Now if Houston was footing the bill, you would have cause for complaint.

Flop can never get around the fact the Southwest is completely paying for this terminal. Did Continental ever do that?

Really? You "remember" jack sh1t. And personally, it seems that you have a pretty big flair for drama yourself, Flop.

Your argument about Hobby is laughable. Friggin' laughable. Please, give it up. You act like we're stealing 80% of the established gates at an airport or something. We are paying for, and building our own terminal because no one else will. Dd you guys ever have to do that? And now you're complaining about us not building more gates for a hypothetical competition that hasn't even materialized yet? Seriously? Do you even hear yourself? For the last time, if a demand for more gates at Hobby is created (thanks to us, by the way), then the airport will build more gates. That's the way it works at every airport in the country, including your beloved IAH. Truly, Flop, you must be one of the densest guys on this board.

As far as Stapleton goes, we left because after we got there, the airport authority jacked up our landing fees and rent, figuring that we'd have to pay whatever they asked, since we had already created a presence. Herb felt double-crossed and cheated, so he pulled out. That's what businessmen do--they make business decisions. Are you really arguing that we should just pay whatever anyone asks, ... just because?

And again, Flop, I'm asking you please... Please. Tell me one damn thing that Southwest has done that isn't "fair," or "following the rules," or some sort of "cheating the system." Just one. You keep blabbering this crap, and even when you insinuate a particular thing, I've shown you wrong. Time and again. Please, tell me one thing. And as far as someone being the worst "offender," well, you should know something about that--you work for an airline with an actual criminal record. I don't.

This message is hidden because Flopgut is on your ignore list.

Simple really. Now please don't quote him. Why some of you even bother with these morons in beyond me.

SWA is spending 100 mil. They stuck the City with 50 mil for a parking garage. Which may or may not pay for itself.

Oh Good Lord.

You're outraged about a parking structure? Give me a f*cking break.

Who paid for the international terminal at IAH Flop? How about the parking structure there?

You're telling Southwest guys they can't take the criticism and your criticism is about a parking structure at Hobby. Completely laughable. I must admit, your debating skills are right up there with the General.

Well done sir!

$50million for a garage they can charge $20 a car/1,200 cars= $24,000 a day, $8,760,000 a year or have it paid off in 6 years, well below industry standards for investment returns. Then it's all profit. But then again, you nor your airline seem to understand the term "profit".

It's a twisted world when I find myself rooting for purple and puke orange on an FI thread.

It's fine we don't share an opinion Andy. Frankly I wish we weren't sharing the same seniority list either. I don't wish you any ill will, but as you well know United is where careers go to die, and I wish this merger was not. SWA sure as hell wouldn't have pulled this off without a change in the City of Houston's feeling toward our airline.

Bubba appreciates you siding with him. However, don't forget that after giving Denver the finger in the 90's, SWA marched right back in in 2006. After United lost airplanes on 911, and the ATSB snubbed you, and after your contract was abrogated and pensions were stolen. That was the perfect invitation for SWA, cause that's what they do. Sh1tty things happen to a legacy and then they appear. If the opposite were true and our airline was stalking the SWA ruins, Herb k would lash himself to the front door of Congress and bawl and complain to high Heaven.

Your actually bitching about a successful American company that has 41+ years of CONSECUTIVE profits without going thru the carwash of bankruptcy like your company did? Again, laughable Flop.

I'm sure every one of those 41 years were just handed to us. Unbelievable. Keep posting, you sound more and more pathetic with each post.

So, did you guys promise something to your bosses to get them to not stay neutral in your SLI? Not smart if so.

Bye Bye---General Lee

1. No, we didn't.

2. This has zippity-crap to do with this HOU discussion, but then again, you don't seem to know any better.

3. Try not to be such a putz. I know it's hard, but you could at least try.

1. As far as I know, Andy agrees with me only on this issue. It's probably because he's not as blinded with hatred as you seem to be.

2. We didn't give Denver the finger; they gave us the finger by jacking up our rates. We acted accordingly, and financially prudently, back then.

3. We came back to Denver because they essentially begged is to, and offered us a longer term deal. We decided we could make money there, and expanded greatly, much to the airport authority's delight. Now you're complaining that we offered service to a city that wanted and needed it. How awful of us. It seems like you think that Southwest perpetrated 9/11 to further our business at the legacies' expense. I do believe you're losing it now, Flop.

4. You're more than welcome to "stalk Southwest's ruins," whatever that means. Please, knock yourself out. I swear that nobody from Southwest will "complain to high heaven" about it. In fact, you can offer any service you want, between any city pairs, and from any airport that you want. We even promise to not try to tell you what airports you should be "allowed" to fly out of, like you guys tried to do. Fly wherever you want, and work your business model the way you see fit, with no interference from us.

5. Stop whining so much, and get to competing. I just want to say, "Good luck--we're all counting on you."

Bubba

Okay dumb asses , if you haven't ready figured it out, General Lee works for SWA. How would anyone have so much info on our operation? Do I give a ******************** to follow DAL's daily operation? No, nor do I really care. NEXT...

We "stuck" them with no such thing. They agreed to pay for the parking garage so that they would get all the revenue. It was in their best interest. Not only will the garage more than pay for itself (and in short order), but the airport will make more money due the new international passenger traffic. You seem to have missed the part where airports look for and encourage more and more passenger traffic. I believe it's the whole point of an airport. It's what they do.

Zyowch! Sorry, it's just really amazing how all that happened for you guys....

Bubba: You are always spring loaded to jump on my posts. Always heaping on twice the words it requires to TRY to make ur point. You're full of crap. You're the largest airline in the US because of the sh1tty things that happened to UAL and AA. That's it. Sorry. I know you'd like to take a victory lap and explain to the world how special and great you are, but it isn't the truth. If the clock ran out to zero and we had to tally everyone's career score right now, you guys wouldn't be close to stepping out on top. You wouldn't even be in the discussion. A couple decades doing what you're doing now? Maybe, but probably not. Right now, not even close.

Flop, you are a Continental pilot...the airline that is built on Chapter 11 and conducting shady business practices that are the worst in the entire industry. Sure SWA pilots built their airline by flying more for less money and foregoing a good retirement plan. Well guess what..the CO pilots flew for even less with no retirement for many years. Even worse, they were put in a very difficult situation and when they finally started making OK, but still less than industry standard wages and benefits you criticized them for flying beyond age 60. As if they were wrong for trying to recoup some of what they lost by not having a full career at normal wages!
You pretty much hate everyone but yourself.
