FYI, after the July decision board, it took 3-4 days before any calls started going out. This board had higher then normal numbers also so not quite sure what to expect. Anybody have confirmation that the board was the 16th or 17th? Good luck to everyone!

Sorry CA1900....I know your gonna jump when you see someone reply, just as I do. No call yet buddy.

I was just wondering, is the Decision Board always one day? I mean, that's a lot of people to go through in just one day. It seems like nobody here got a call today and nobody on my e-mail list of people I interviewed with got one either. So I was thinking that maybe it ran into a second day because so many people were interviewed. They did quite a few interviews in July....at least 3 weeks worth at roughly 12 a day.

When you guys find out you were successful (or before then, depending on your mood), I'm looking for a little guidance myself. Interviewing 15 Sep, and any info is helpful. Did some prep, so know all about the TMAAT and the LOI, but for those of you who just went through it, any survival tips? Good luck to all you guys, maybe I can be your F/O someday.

Moderate amounts of caffeine, happy thoughts and lots of smiling. All within the constraints of being yourself. Your happy, positive side.

But I wouldn't go with the wacky, mad cap tricks found in the book "Nuts". Think enthusiasm while maintaining an underlying professional attitude.

IMHO, how you would interact with fellow employees in a typical work setting.

I am a complete coffee addict, but i didn't touch any te day of the interview. Your addreneline will have you jittery enough. It may sound silly but I drank a ton of water (because addreneline dehydrates you something fierce) and I went to the can at every opportunity. Between each interview I went to the "office" and gave myself two minutes to regroup.

I made a concerted effort to slow down and listen to everyone and not rush anything. I think it is very easy to let the situation take control - you are very excited and you want to perform well. This can kick in your fight or flight response and make you come accross as nervous, spastic or just too intenese. Everybody is differnt, but to keep myself (relativly) calm I stood whenever I could and focused on small physical things I can control (breathing, walking, etc)

Oh yeah, bring breath mints - adreneline also dries out your mouth and can give you serious kitten breath.

Got my rejection letter today. Not too surprised.

Guess third time ain't the charm. Good luck to all.

Very sorry to hear it. This business is a mystery to me, it truly is.

After I read your message, I checked my mailbox. Nothing yet, but then again it'd have farther to travel. Ack.

Nope, not that I'm aware of. I'm sure I would have gotten word from one or more of them if they had.

A letter 2 days after the decision board? Wow... that's pretty quick. Usually, it seems the calls go out just before the letters arrive. Sorry to hear the bad news.

shaking...

What are the chances that calls will go out before the weekend? I can't take much more of this...

Wow that was fast. Sorry to hear that. Lets hope the rest have better luck. I am curious how many went to the board and what the percentages are that usually get it. I hope to hear one way or the other by mid-next week. The suppense is killing me. Everyone waiting, keep your heads high and hands on the phone. Good luck.

HalinTexas, sorry to hear this bud.

May I ask about the "third time" interview? Was there any mention, at any time, by anyone in the process, of your status as a third time around'er? I'm curious about how they are treating those who have previous failures.

Again, sorry.

enigmainTexas, wannabe third timer.

For what it is worth, I remember well sitting by the phone waiting for news. When Friday came and went, I was convinced that a call wouldn't come until at least Monday.
Saturday night about 8:45 PM I got the phone call from the then PHX Chief Pilot.
I was so sure that it was some buddies yanking my chain that I gave the guy grief for several minutes until he actually convinced me that it was really him. He says that has happened to him several times.
He would take the list home with him and make the calls from home in the evenings. That was many years ago, I don't know if they still do it that way. He offered me a class date that would be less than two weeks notice and apologized for that. (week from following Thursday) He did say I would be welcome to take a later class if I needed to, but my employer was prepared for me leaving and didn't have heartache with the short notice. It was during the time that the first gulf war was ended so there was a lot of uncertainty on availability of military guys.

I Got The Call...

Uh, for an interview...:D

Just thought I would bump this thread. You guys can get me back in Oct when I'll be in the same boat you're in right now. I'll be chewing my cigarettes and smoking my fingernails!

Good luck to all the guys waiting for the phone to ring.

Halin, dude, I'm sorry to hear your news.

Well, my mailbox didn't have anything in it; that's a good sign. Barring a weekend phone call, I guess I'm just gonna have to wait until next week. Arrggh!

(Just made a margarita. I'll feel better shortly. :D )

Yup, no bad mail for me either. Prehaps its the garlic I hang on my mailbox (not for vampires, my mail lady is irish) I am suprised nobody has gotten a call yet.

Bad mail received today...Sux Had all my refs called, 1500 Jet PIC etc. Good luck to you all hope the mailman stays away. Seriously thinking about another career, as regionals are not an option supporting a family on 21 bucks an hour. Hope you all have better luck!
