Actually, it was GK who came to Fornaro looking to make a deal.

http://www.bizjournals.com/orlando/stories/2010/09/27/daily39.html

In all, Leonard talked to Kelleher four times about doing a deal. And then, when Kelleher stepped down as CEO, Leonard approached Jim Parker, the then-new CEO of Southwest, on two other occasions.

“Bob did this deal,” Leonard said of Fornaro. “What I did was a failure. I didn’t get it done in six attempts. But Bob’s latest round of conversations with Southwest resulted in a merger.” The announcement caught the industry by surprise. But probably the people who were most surprised were the executives of Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines Inc.

Looks like BOB did the deal. By-the-way PCL I thought you would be working on SLI? What are you doing on FI(wasteoftime).com?

I'm not involved in SLI talks. Besides, FI is always good for a few laughs.

Did you even read your own link? Leonard has been gone for about three years now. There were no talks in the intervening time frame, and then GK called Bob, not the other way around. From the article:

"Then, on April 21 this year, Southwest’s current CEO, Gary Kelly, called Bob Fornaro, who had succeeded Leonard as AirTran’s CEO, and said: “Let’s talk.

I think the article meant "GK returned the repeated sales calls from AirTran and called Bob Fornaro, who had succeeded Leonard as AirTran’s CEO, and said: Let’s talk.”

Mmmm, sugary cereal. You should try the "Malt O Meal" Marshmallow Maties. Damn tasty! A lot like Cocoa Puffs with Lucky Charms marshmallows.

Haven't ever tried those, sounds good.

And Slaquer--over easy eggs? I've never seen why people like them that way. Scrambled with some shredded cheddar and some Texas Pete hot sauce. My mouth is watering just typing it!

They are messy. Now that I saw the cold pizza I want. Cold piza a beer sounds good right now. :)

Cold pizza is a good fix for a hangover but not for most eating situations. For God's sake, buy a microwave, man! ;)

Enjoying a nice cold Yuengling here in the PHL. Why can't we get this stuff in Texas?

He had to call, he hung up him 12 times by accident. He didn't need his Furnace Ducts cleaned, an obvious mistake.

I heard from a flight attendant's sister, who does hair for a check airman's third wife, that the check airman needed to make money on his expiring options. She said she said that the pilot called up Herb and asked to get er done to make one last splash on the stock. She said, she said, he said Herb, asked Colleen if she want to rub the bottle of culture one more time and bring on new brothers and sisters of Hotlanta and pull off the greatest comeback/move since John Travolta's return in Pulp Fiction, and make this a reality.

Suspected of drinking, pilot is arrested at MSP
Updated: May 15, 2011 - 9:34 PM
Federal alcohol violation suspected

An AirTran Airways pilot was arrested and removed from his scheduled flight from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport early Saturday after he was found to have a blood alcohol level slightly above what's permitted for airline pilots.

A security worker smelled alcohol on the pilot's breath and called airport police, who measured the pilot's blood alcohol level at 0.05 percent, just over the Federal Aviation Administration limit of 0.04 percent.

The legal limit for vehicle drivers in Minnesota is twice that: 0.08 percent. Pilots also are prohibited from flying for at least eight hours after drinking alcohol.

Airport spokesman Patrick Hogan said Sunday the incident is under investigation.

The pilot was arrested at the gate before a scheduled 5:45 a.m. flight to Milwaukee and later was released.

The plane, which had 112 passengers on board, was delayed for 35 minutes while another pilot was called to take over.

In a statement Sunday, AirTran said it would work with local officials to determine legal action.

"Safety of our customers and crew is always our primary concern," it said. "The captain involved in this incident will not fly for AirTran Airways during the investigation."

"If true" (only accused), what was his BAC 6 hours prior? What's sad is that we all know if a pilot with a drinking problem. Did his crew smell anything? Did they see him boozing at the bar a few hours prior?

Hey Dicko!
I didn't make any commentary. I think every airline (mine included) has had issues like these. In fact I believe our friends at the TSA have been involved with many more "False Accusations" than successful one's.
