Just released but still needs BOD approval. Sounds like a slight pay increase with increase to 401k and better scheduling rules.

Nice going guys!

Had about 40 pilots show up in DAL at the HQ lunch room. Exerpts from SWAPA Pres email:

Last night SWAPA agreed in principle on a new five year contract with the Company through August 31, 2011. This new contract includes the following: stronger scope language as well as codeshare restrictions not previously released including no domestic codeshare, increase in pay rates including retroactive pay, increase in 401K match, improved disability program and streamlined/improved scheduling and work rule language. Additionally we have retained the Lance Captain program and ELITT albeit with changes to current language. Our Negotiating Committee (NC) is continuing to negotiate final language and when that work is completed will present a Tentative Agreement to the BoD for approval. If the BoD approves the new contract it will be sent to the membership for final ratification. I anticipate a BoD meeting in late February or early March to review the TA.

Also, seems mechs have approved their TA:

From the AMFA website:
Thursday, 29 January 2009
AURORA, Colo.- Today, AMFA announces the passage of the tentative agreement with Southwest Airlines. The referendum passed as follows: 60.56% to accept, 38.92% to reject, and 0.51% to abstain. The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) will be signed next week in Dallas, and the ratification bonuses will be distributed shortly.
The new contract provides for wage increases that amount to a combined 17% increase over the four (4) year term of the Agreement: 10% in base wage increases and 7% in obtainable ratification/productivity bonuses (3% ratification bonus, 3% base raises in 2009, 2010 and 2011, and a 1% increase in 2012). Also, employees at the “thereafter” rate of the pay scale will receive a 1% productivity bonus all four (4) years.
The new contract also includes a Letter of Agreement restricting the Company’s ability to perform maintenance at international locations to a maximum of four (4) lines should the need arise. This new language removes the Company’s current unlimited ability to take non-customarily preformed work out of the United States. The language negotiated places a clear and defined limitation on how much work can be sent to an international location, and established a limited time period for taking this repair work out of country.
There is also enhanced job security and protection language in the new Agreement covering minimum staffing levels, no blending of work with vendors, future aircraft fleet-types being our work, and a Company paid AMFA member position to monitor all outsourcing activity.
AMFA is the largest craft union representing aircraft technicians and related employees and serves members at Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air, Mesaba Airlines, Northwest Airlines, and Southwest Airlines. This Association’s motto is "Safety in the air begins with quality maintenance on the ground."

Rumor is no domestic codeshare and 'stronger' language than before...for what it's worth.

How interesting... was just listening to SWAPA president Kuwitzy this morning. Of course he didn't say anything about it, but he did comment a couple times about them being in Section 6 negotiations.

Congrats, guys and gals, hope it's everything you were shooting for!

Great! Now AirTran is going to demand SWA -70%

That's hilarious. In all serious though, I always want to see every single pilot group get more money. It will get our industry going in the right direction. Hopefully, we can start a race to the top.

Airtran's 15 year Captain pay on the failed TA2 was over $180/hr or Southwest -10/15%. Of course, that 15 year pay scale doesn't do most of us any good until 2015-2020.

Nice going. The rest of the management groups in this industry have their heads so far up their collective arses that they flat out refuse to believe the Southwest way of doing things and treating their internal customers is a winning formula.
Oh no, they're convinced Lorenzo is a God.
Thanks for raising the bar and doing so in such a timely fashion.
