Ok, I'm kinda curious about that. Care to explain it more? IMO it looks like it's part of the vulgar way swa does business. Things go wrong at USAir and SWA goes into PHL. Same with UAL in DEN. They pimp these Texas airport deals like an unscrupulous lawyer. All SWA does is wait for something to go wrong for some other airline's employee group, and then they move in. Is that what passes for "warrior spirit?!" And is there a a worse pilot group out there for cheerleading? Has there ever been?
I'm really ready for the lip service to end. Anybody remember Chase getting on here and announcing SWA's grand entrance into Mexico service? It included a request he had for info on how to do ETOPS across the Gulf (wtf?). That was almost a decade ago. Just stfu and get the flying done SWA. I've been going to BOG (and others) for many years and hear JetBlue and Spirit down there doing work. No mouth, no BS, no trickery, just work. They've hung out their shingle, rolled up their sleeves, and got to business. Shoot AirTran did more in 16 years than SWA will do in 50. F-ing airline can't do anything unless some other employee group is getting hosed. AND their proud of that!!
I was referencing the flight operations department. It's a different animal than what I am used to. I think there is a regime change going on finally.
Comming from you calling me an idiot , I will take it as a compliment . You might want do some research as to what the CEO of DAL says about Spirit .
You also might want to change your hire date when you talk about you being a Delta pilot so you will be senior to Scoot.
He actually is one so he is stuck with his hire date, you can change yours as fast as you post . With. 30k post soon on the way , that's fast .
Like others have said .You have self handed ruined this website .
What is cool though, is that instead of being an ATL CPT, in the next couple of years I'll be a HOU CPT and probably fly only Int'l trips. I'm down with that.
I got no dog in this urinary olympiad but unless you have a bunk on your jet and carry more than 2 pilots you cant say you fly International.
it's tough to compete with legacy carriers operating post-bankruptcy contracts...all while paying industry leading pay...[emoji7]

According to who, Bill? There are many Int'l pilots that would disagree with you, me being one of them.
I'll tell customs that.
Comeon Humvee....
Two man 737 down on an AR or over the gulf is a matter of crossing a border....really.
Using HF, etops planning, on some tracks, getting a meal, taking a (legal) nap in a designated rest facility, crossing a few time zones....and the most elusive, getting a pay OVERRIDE to fly it counts.
Mexico and canada dont count....

Bill, I think your posts are pretty good. But this time you all in the kool aid and don't know the flava!

Damn, we've been calling ourselves (ASA) an international commuter by flying to those two countries plus the islands. Reckon that's why we don't get that chocolate sundae Jenny loves so much.![]()

I hear ya Humvee...
In my day, 737s went between Cleveland and Chicago....not the clown car marathon laps they are making into Central america.
Not knocking your deal...just saying what I always thought the words "international flying" meant.
Mexico and canada dont count....

I was going to say something similar. No disrespect to SWA, it's a well run airline. That being said, sorry, if you can reach it in the 737, that's hardly "international" the way most of us think of it. Sure, Mexico is not the US but it's not polar flying either. I flew RJ's to Mexico and the Caribbean 12 years ago. It's not the same flying that I've done at UniCal.
Well, if you guys at Unical don't consider it "international," when flying to Mexico and the Caribbean, then why does Flopgut get so friggin' crazy about us going there from Hobby? Seriously, I think he took several years off of his life, raising his blood pressure like he did with his indignant outrage.
Hell, apparently it's nothing to see... just more "domestic" outta' Hobby... move along now... nothing to talk about here... :0
Bubba
Because I wanted to see my airplane right next to your airplane, and see who more people chose. But that was less than a sure thing for you guys, so you ran off.
Like I said before, just do the work/flying for a few years, then mouth off. Till then? STFU
Awesome! If that's what you want, then c'mon down to Hobby, where we've ALWAYS flown from, and park those shiny Unical jets next to ours. We'll see what happens. Deal?
That's exactly what I've been trying to tell you all this time, Flop--STFU about where WE fly to/from, and worry about running your own airline. Glad we're finally on the same sheet of music! I feel so much better about it now...
Bubba
Run a more responsible business, there won't be anything to say. Did Spirit have to start with a controversial airport or terminal? No. They just do work. Red thinks I'm upset about about this expansion at IAH?! The guy just can't get it thru his head, I think competition is great!!
Even you've admitted I take a regular hiatus from FI. I'd rather not have this conversation right now. But one of your eternally confused co-workers called me out. When I'm sure the behavior of your company is such that the rest of the industry doesn't have to watch out for a backstabbing, I'll stfu.
And before you give me any crap about flying out of IAH (or that ridiculous "splitting the FIS" nonsense), answer this one question, Flop: how are we supposed to "compete fairly," that is fly internationally out of IAH, when ALL of our domestic customers are at a different airport on the other side of town? That's a serious question, and one that you've dodged every time.
Answer that question, or you can STFU with all your BS, made-up arguments.
Bubba
We both know that it was only a "controversy," because you didn't want us to be able to compete internationally out of Houston with you.
Really? Pretty damn sure all anyone complained about was that you weren't willing to do it out of IAH. Show me where my airline is trying to keep Spirit out right now? Your credibility is really starting to slide BubbaAll any company has wanted with SWA is a level playing field. SWA was unwilling to go to DFW, then managed to keep the other airlines from coming back into Love. Unwilling to go to IAH, and only building one gate for other airline use. See a pattern?
