Sounds like there will be some CA-CA folks in Jan-June. I doubt I will be able to hold out that long, but there will be CA-CA.

Hmmm . . . I guess you could say, "CA-CA happens".

We'll be fine. SWA will adapt and do whatever it takes to survive and prosper. These aren't idiots running the company. I'm less concerned about furloughs from all that than I am about the cowboy mentality pervading this place. Not everybody, of course, not even a majority, but still way too many. I'm afraid one of these cowboys is going to ignore one too many ground prox warnings or unstable approaches and drive an airplane into the mountains. We got lucky in LAS; I'd rather not press our luck.

If you mean FAT CA transitioning direct to SWA CA, no chance

Over 400 pilots will be waiting for a class date on 1/2015. They will be in training through June 2015 at least. Half of those will be senior AAI Captains. You can definitely expect to see some of those guys awarded SWA CA seats.

Bad idea, no problem paying CARates but a little FO time would help....

It has been nice to see the SWA operation from the right seat. But all it really translated to was me dialing down my give a hoot meter a few notches. If I had come over as a Capt, I would have studied and asked questions. SWA is a bigger operation, that's about the biggest difference I've seen. I upgraded from the 717 to the 737 at AT and got great support from the FO's. Trust me. Most FO's would rather fly with a humble newbie Capt, than a micro manager.
