How is replacing a two pilot aircraft with another two pilot aircraft going to decrease the number of pilots? Not to mention it will increase the number of flight attendants on the property.
More flight attendants is definitely a good thing!
You obviously have not flown on us in awhile. More guy FAs is not a good think...or maybe it is for some

The underlying assumption is that SWA wants to retire it's old classics fast and add ASM on long-haul or slot-restricted routes. Make sense or clear as mud?
....LBB will be even prouder of their "hometown" airline. LBB tower may even call the new birds "heavies" just to give those SWA guys an ego boost.
Bye Bye---General Lee
The whole fa hiring process has changed bro. You will be pleased.
Ha Ha Ha!
Delta at Lubbock...Delta Connection that is....
The General would rather just fly over Lubbock and outsource it to another pilot group, if he worked for Delta that is.

Delta flies to LBB too.
Whooooa....Wait a minute...that another seniority list.
Quit bashing LBB please...at least its WN pilots and WN planes.
Say what? Ooooooh Kay. LBB to one of DL's smaller hubs (MEM), and you think it should be a larger aircraft? How about start out on an RJ (to a small city like LBB), and see how it goes? I have no problem with that. I do have a problem with RJs competing directly with 737s or 717s to larger cities, which is just a waste. To smaller cities like LBB, I say give it a go. If it is always full, then throw a larger plane or mainline plane on it. They also fly to McAllen, a city SWA does not fly to (HRL is close, but not the same), which means DL Connection OWNS the MEM to McAllen route! Yippee!! And I guess it also owns the LBB to MEM route (especially since SWA doesn't even go to MEM). You LOSE. Red Flyer, are you bored yet? 5 legs a day getting you down? In 10 years you will be so bored, guaranteed. Enjoy MAF and ISP.
Bye Bye---General Lee
It does sound like Delta management.
He spends and entire paragraph trying to defend his easy scope relief to all the small cities across America. How's that working out for you General?
Over 750 airframes of RJ feed. I love feeding my own airline with our own airplanes. Enjoy your RJ's. It gets kinda hard to park in JFK and ATL when you can't get to the gate because of your "Regional Feed".
"Fishing" for new routes? To be replaced by mainline?
I know you don't believe that and try to sell it to us is even worse.
Gup
Management? Hardly. There is no use putting a mainline plane on a small city pair from DL's smallest hub. I bet DL couldn't fill a DC9 to LBB or MFE from MEM. Would you as management put a DC9 on that route from MEM? If you would, you are "NUTS". IF DL was the only mainline or regional airline into a city, sure, maybe DL could throw a mainline plane on there. But, SWA, CAL, and AA already fly planes into LBB---so an RJ would probably be the best to see if the route could be viable for a mainline plane. And you can look back at all of my posts (I know you already do) and see if I ever stated RJs aren't good for route finding. I have always complained, though, that putting an RJ up against a larger plane (737 or 717) is probably not economically smart. If you think ONLY managment thinks that way, then again you are NUTS. (as your SWA ex CEO used to say)
And 750 RJs? How many do you think DL has parked over the last couple years? Hundreds, and more coming. RA stated more will go in the last conference call. All Freedom Air ERJs, and Comair is slimming down big time. You are WAY off on your numbers, probably because you are spinning from all of the legs you do each trip. Don't you get tired of that? I remember flying at the "commuters" and I was dead tired after a 6 or 7 leg day out of MDW way back when. I bet you just roll your eyes everytime you look at your trip pairings. I look at mine and see ONE leg for the day, and going somewhere fun. I know you wish you could. You probably like going to SAN, but it takes 4 legs to get there, and then you are too tired, and have to get up for another AM trip early the next morning, for 4 more legs to BHM. Yippee. Enjoy that pal, for 20 more years.
