I heard on one of the news channels that the CFI was an Embry Riddle graduate and the "expert" on air was wondering how he could make such a blunder since the CFI was an ERAU grad.

If he did go to Empty Nipple, that will bring them plenty of great press!

Bye Bye--General Lee

Talk about an over-reaction. Capital evacuated, guards running around screaming "this is not a drill", and pilots of a C-150 led away in handcuffs.

Over_reaction?!?

The safety and security of our government officials is no joke. What if that aircraft were piloted by terrorists armed with some type of bomb or other weapon? If the government acted as if it were no big deal then the bad guys would eventually catch on and possibly exploit that opportunity. Use your brain Luke.

If our government/safety/freedom is at the mercy of a flying spamcan with a lower gross weight than my first car then we are all in trouble.

Liberty: use it or lose it--while you still can!

So, are you saying that it's not possible for a light aircraft to carry a payload which could do substantial damage to the White House, Capitol, Pentagon, and etc? What if it was even just a kamikazee type attack? Shouldn't we be concerned? After 9/11 it's all a different world now. We can't ignore threats, or even seemingly insignificant potential threats.

Maybe more people working in the second tower on 9/11 would be alive today if they "over-reacted" and ran out faster. A 150 can do a lot of damage if it's loaded with the right(wrong) stuff.
