Why look backwards. Who cares what a/c paid in the past. By banding do you think the company raised the 767 rate or lowered the 747 rate???

Why look backwards? Because both our CBAs have been amendable for multiple years.

We all know you're the guy getting a 38% raise out of this, but try to temper your enthusiasm for those of us who might have to take the hit for you. Btw: remember to thank a CAL pilot if this passes. Not that many of them will vote "yes", but without the leverage their higher pay provided you'd be looking at, well, not much.

Maybe the pilot group is missing this point,

- Mgmt has TWO separate pilot groups right now. They have YOU by the balls. Either vote this in ( your one and only chance ) or allow MGMT to "whipsaw" one against the other. MGMT can say in good faith, "well we gave them a contract with a 34k signing bonus" ( more than most will make in a year ).

- The whipsawing is already happening. Hiring at CAL, while UAL has furloughs. Good luck boys, but in order to save what is left of this career, you must vote yes.

Labor will always have management by the balls if they can unify and work together to achieve what they know they deserve.

Hey 6 hard days off on reserve. Way to go MEC!

I think I'll stay with my 8 hard days off now under our crapy 02 contract.

Yeah, what a turd of a contract.....Just too bad we will get railroaded by the ual pilot group and the garbage of a contract they have

yeah right. Must vote yes. You sound like the Koolaid drinkers on the MEC that voted this thing in. Not gonna happen.

What about SCOPE... its not just a mouthwash....although if this goes thru you might need to was your mouth out... I fly for a regional and want you guys (all mainline to get your heads out of your collective asses and capture ALL regional Jet flying. Maybe if you weren't too good to fly the small jet 20 years ago we wouldn't ALL be in this place to begin with) Place your bonus or whatever your calling it into the contract and not a lump sum payout. The only real winner in your union (ALPA) they will get roughly several million dollars of your lump sum payout oh yeah that plus tax your 401k now too! lets just use 8000 pilots as an example and 35,000 signing bonus per pilot thats 280,000,000 multiply that by 1.95% and thats 5,460,000 in Alpa's coffers! Get a contract we can all be proud of...

So it sounds like everyone is voting no, just like every contract in the past. And even though everyone is voting no, it will pass, just like every contract in the past.

Doesn't sound like you read the same TA.
Double pumping reserves, the oxymoronic "moveable days off" for reserves, pennies on the dollar retro, engine runs, domestic checkin for ID/trip, partial pay for vacation, prorated duty days in vacation month reduces days off by two, 2 1/2 hour short call.

That TA?

I'm working my way through it.

Dont forget about training on days off, with only 3.25 hrs pay for an 8 hr class, scope is absolutely wrecked, and they actually took vacation days away from the senior guys!!

MEC vote results:

7-4 CAL
12-3 UAL

Read between the lines. BOTH MECs are telling everyone to vote this down. Until you see a unimous yes vote, it's not even worth considering to vote yes.

I'll glance over the contract but if what I've read here is true, NFW.
6 immovable days off/mo for reserves? That's BS and reason enough to vote it down.

2+30 short call? YGBSM. I guess the CPO will be wanting to talk to me on a regular basis.

You're joking, right? I've lived under both contracts and LUAL's contract sucks but LCAL's contract can suck chrome off a bumper.

Not kidding at all, this will get voted in by the UAL group based solely on the pay rates in my opinion...Ive not flown with one CAL guy that says they will vote for this turd, but the UAL guys I've talked to in the crew room all think the leaked pay rates, which were right on, were perfectly fine with them. Oh, and don't forget the reserve mpg went from 76 for CAL to 70 with the new contract....Another give-back from our current contract! I'd personally rather live with what we have and hope for something better than vote for this POS

UAL representation voted 80% in favor.

If it isn't 100%, the MEC is sending a message to the membership.

Will it pass? Possibly. The POS 64 1/2 year old lcal craptain I flew with last week said he'd vote in favor of anything because he just wanted his retro and didn't care about any other details. (the craphole sellouts aren't limited to one subsidiary; they're in both subsidiaries).
Toss in lcal and lual scabholes with the wheezer geezers and you've got what - 25% of the vote? Add in the idiots who have already spent their retro checks on new swimming pools/cars/etc and you've probably got another 5% of 'yes for anything' voters. So it could pass but I'm not counting on it. Far too many turds in the punchbowl.

As far as pay rates, you guys realize that everyone on lual property is on year 12, right? Compare lual year 12 to lcal year 12. Near zero difference in payrates.

I don't know who you guys are talking to at lual but it's probably the geezers. Ask anyone in the bottom half of the list and they're likely voting no.

Of course jay pierce assured us that he wasn't going to send a TA out to the membership that wouldn't pass so we've got that going for us. :angryfire
