Oh really? Must have missed that memo.
OO will open its crew base in PHX on 1/1/12 for the CRJ 200 flying it will preform for US. Does anyone know how many planes will start on the first day and how long it will take to replace all the YV flying?
You guys are getting 38 900's ? I think that is what Mesa has, so you would need that to replace our flying. Wish you luck with that. Your days are number with the 100+ 200's
When Messa gets the contract cancelled, those 900s will have "operated by Skywest" stickers as quick as the mechanics can razor blade the Mesa stickers off. This industry sucks! You guys are getting 38 900's ? I think that is what Mesa has, so you would need that to replace our flying. Wish you luck with that. Your days are number with the 100+ 200's

Why does it suck if Skywest gets these airplanes? Skywest pays more than Mesa does. Do you work for Mesa?
The Mesa guys have families to feed. I work at SKYW and hate to see anybody(except gheyjhets pilots) lose their jobs/seniority. This industry is brutal.
So how about Skywest buys Mesa, pilots and all and integrates the seniority lists. Feel better now?
SKYW won't be happy until those planes are flown by 2nd year Captains, new hire F/Os fresh out of a 152. We will indeed see, the Freedom/DAL case will play predominantly in every Mainline CEO wettest dream...So how about Skywest buys Mesa, pilots and all and integrates the seniority lists. Feel better now?
That would be the right thing to do for employees but we all know that is not the way it usually works. But there is always optimism.

They tried that. Mesa pilots and company did"nt want to play the game.. So USair and Skywest said we will do it another way. Thats what your seeing..
By operating old 100's in PHX with no APUs, at a loss. Sounds great. Enjoy the summer heat.
Merge my ass...all those Mesa/Freedom guys bragging how they took the Comair flying causing Comair furloughs. What about those guys families? Pretty sure the Mesa guys could care less. Getting the flying is one thing but to brag about it really displayed SOME of the Mesa/Freedom pilot mentality.
Merge sure, they can merge with the Expressjet/ASA side as long as they are stapled to the bottom.
at a loss.

Do you know something the execs already haven't figured out yet?
Please do tell!
So I have been told... FWIW.
Yes.
They will be operating at a loss of around 600K a month when it is all said and done. Overall it will be less than if they left the CRJ100/200's in mothballs.
So I have been told... FWIW.
Is SkyWest was willing to fly at a loss, we would still
Be flying the 6 planes that are going to Gojet...
After the money OO sunk into those planes to get them all up to snuff (ACARS/WiFi/FMS) consider it a loss anyways.
