Are you saying that pilots declared emergencies for dumb things, or that things that shouldn't have failed, did fail, causing the emergency?

No, pilots had to declare for shall I say small things due to procedure i.e. landing gear down & lock indicators being burned out. Depending on the pilots experience in the aircraft, some would approach this situation differently, and an emergency was not declared. That is what I meant by dumb things (a light bulb combined with bad procedures to deal with it) and they have since been ironed out (procedure changed).

You misunderstood me there. See above post. Believe me, I know what you are up against more so than you think. I was not saying anything against the pilots. I will let this get back to the training questions, don't want it to get way off topic....

Hearing a lot of rumors that the Skyways deal is falling through with Delta. People at the Pan Am Facility in IAD are saying that Skways has pulled back its training program. Anyone from Skyways hearing this?

It's certainly true that Dallas is the perferred place that Skyway is sending pilots to get trained. I hear that Dulles instructors are lacking in comparison and many Skyway pilots are having a hard time getting through the program over there. I even heard that some are refusing to take the check ride because they believe they haven't been trained properly and won't pass.
