I don't live with my parents and I have a mortage. I am making all the bills and then some on FO pay. I also save into my retirement plan and still have a bit left over.
I don't understand why guys get so angry when a guy just likes his job. I do my locals and 2-day trips and go home.
I have a good schedule, plenty of time off, go on vacation all the time.
Bringing in unions and all that stuff, some guys just make this stuff way to complicated.
I find it quite hysterical on here that guys just love to find someone that is happy with his life and try to piss in his cherrios and try and teach me how bad my life is. Sorry I can think for myself and life is good! Later
You're full of crap. Or you live in a gawddam.n ghetto. Tell us where you're domiciled. Or perhaps you're another one of those career changers who made their money doing something else and can afford being an FO as a hobby. Or your wife makes serious coin. Which is it? Got news for ya buddy. When you have kids running around you might want the wife staying home tending to them. You need money to do that. And it's not easy even on RJ captain pay unless you commute from east bumfark, Nebraska if you want the kids in a decent school.
Nobody is angry because you like your job. We're pissed because you've expressed a desire to cheapen the profession. Have you compared your rates with ASA's rates on the 700's?
Your job wouldn't be so pleasant if it wasn't for the efforts of ALPA. Guys like you haven't got a clue because you take everything for granted. How much of that nifty safety gear was installed because airlines thought it would be a good idea. Practically everything that keeps your moronic a$$ out of the weeds came from people dying and ALPA lobbying to make stuff like GPWS, EGPWS, TCAS, wx radar, etc. required equipment. Why do you think CVR recording can't be used against you for disciplinary action? The ATA or ALPA?
So what happens if ASA forces a seniority integration? That 2 year upgrade might go out the window.
When the effects of SJS wear off you might see things differently Newgal.
