Everyone knows that if you have 500 hrs and someone asks you to fly a jet you will do it. No one cares who will get mad and if some people bitch about it on a message board. They are out for their own good lets face it. However did everyone think that maybe its the airlines fault for allowing little boys and girls with this time into their million dollar jet.

Shouldn;t there be some kind of regulation against people flying highly sophisticated regional airliners with in some cases up to 100 people on board with little or no experience? I think it would be a good idea.

But until the airlines and the FAA step up and say well maybe we sould put more experienced people in the cockpit it will never stop.

seeing as how there has been a rash of accidents in the last few years, they really should keep these lame brains out of the cockpit.

Guys, anyone who lists all the SEL airplanes and any MEL Pipers they've flown in the Aircraft Experience is ignorant of what is going on in the real world...so just take what they write with a grain of salt like you would a new puppy pissing all over the new carpet...

I do for me. And I'll tell anyone willing to listen what I think...for free!!! If I charged I'd be Kit Darby.

Any who, it's not about having it figured out--it's about the FNGs listening to those with 4-6 years in this industry and beyond (only if they are still lucid and don't start every story with back then...or when stewardesses weren't fags or when it was fun...) with open ears and open minds to try and learn something. Listen!!! And not with that "I know better" smirk on your face and I won't make the same mistakes and poor career choices and I'll be a 757 CA at CAL at age 37...blah...blah...blah.

We all love to fly and that is our vice and downfall...get help before you have no self respect and you are bitter beyond your years. Find someone to talk some sense into you. Try women!

JUST SAY NO to MESA!!! Any pilot group that lets J.O. walk over them are worthless. You guys and girls might not be that bad if you would stand up for yourselves and demand better work rules and a "real" contract!! You bring down the standard for everyone else! It is just as bad as SJS, you know flying 50/70/90 seat a/c for chump change!! Jets wear off and QOL and Pay become important!!

Im sorry you feel that way considering the contract is what it is until its up in 2 more years. ALPA is the middle man for most pilots. They can only help in negotiating whats in the pilots best interests. If we got everything that we wanted it wouldnt be a business anymore. Mesa,Skywest, and Southwest are the only ones turnin profits out there right now. They each have their own way of cutting cost's and unfortunately Mesa is one of the lowest paying regionals. The 900 does get better pay vs. the 200 so dont worry about that. Sounds like you used to work for Mesa and got fired or something. Did you fu*k up? You probably couldnt pass their training! At least I would have a beer with another pilot before labeling them. Damn arrogant cocky superpilot

You must have just came back from a DC Academy meeting and actually believe the crap they tell people about the money they will make if they pay them for training. There isn't an FO in this industry flying a jet under 104 seats that makes anywhere near 70K. Guppykiller is probably rolling in about 30K if he works overtime and if he flew the 190 his pay would increase a whopping NOTHING to about 30K. 2nd yr CHQ pay $29/hr. Yearly income flying 90 hrs. = $31320. Yearly income after taxes = about 25K. I made more than that when I was in college working 15 hours a week. It's jackholes like this who think they actually have a career as an airline pilot when in reality they are destroying a career that was once prestigious.

You, my friend are the idiot for quitting that job. 30+ bucks an hour!!

no i guess you are kinda right...from that point on you just have to deal with sub-par work rules and the bottom of the barrel captain pay.....sound like fun to me.
sub-par work rules????

SJS??? What gives us the right to question who has SJS? How about SWA newhires? Do they have SJS too because they have to pay for a 737 type? How about JetBlue? Did you see their payrates for the E190? How about Netjets? Their CA payscales are equal to CA regional payscales. Who are the sell-outs and who are the ones with integrity?

I know a couple of peeps at my former employer who were talking about this subject...I pointed out that they must have SJS considering we have the lowest Airbus pay scales in the United States.

Again...glass houses guys...

By the way "GuppyKiller" does not work for RAH....

Yes!

"How about JetBlue? Did you see their payrates for the E190?"

No, that's not SJS. These guys just have Kool-Aid administered rectally.

"How about Netjets? Their CA payscales are equal to CA regional payscales."

At least they're TRYING!

"Who are the sell-outs and who are the ones with integrity? "

Sellouts:
Any pilot who attended Comair Academy
Any pilot who paid for their training
Any pilot who has purchased a type-rating in order to gamble on an interview.
Any pilot who has taken a pay-cut in exchange for growth.
Any pilot who has taken concessions in exchange for larger aircraft.
Any member of the RJDC.
Any regional-airline pilot who is anxious to get the E-Jet family of aircraft.
Any pilot who honestly believes that if they could get a few hundred hours in an E-Jet they'll be more likely to get picked up by "a major".
Any pilot who votes for E170/190 & keeps furloughees on the street longer.
Any pilot with zero hours in a turboprop
Any flight instructor who went directly to the right seat of an RJ and then COMPLAINED about the slow upgrade time less than 3 years later.

Integrity
Military aviators currently serving our country
Angel-Flight
Furloughed pilots who chose not to accept Jets4'Jobs
Furloughed pilots who left aviation rather than whore themselves
Corporate pilots who dont laugh out loud at regional pilots
Any pilot volunteering to assist cleanup, rescue, etc. after Katrina

Have A Nice Day!

Apparently SJS also causes deafness and apathy.

What? Oh, nevermind, I don't care anyway.

.
P.S. No SJS here, but a wicked case of BUTTS.

WOW!!! So your saying all the J4J guys from United and US Airways are sellouts? How about the TONS of furloughed guys from Skyway, ACA, Chicago Express, etc flying E170's at RAH are they sellouts? How about the TENS OF THOUSANDS of pilots from regionals and majors that took paycuts to save the airline?

Contrary to your beliefs...there are many other sectors of the economy that have been suffering other than the airline industry. I would agree with you if the economy was doing well...but it isn't.

Simple capitalism...there are too many pilots...ticket prices are too low...oil is too high. Blaming it on SJS is not going to solve this economic problem.
