once there were three scientists who were walking in the woods. They were searching for butterflys. While they were sleeping that night a tribe captured them and put them in a tent. The first guy wakes up and sees the tribe cheif with a spear he says: Death or unga bunga? The first guy says: Unga bunga because i don't want to die! So they take him away. Unga bunga is a guy with a ten foot long dick and he sticks it up the other guys butt for ten seconds and then the second guy wakes up and he sees the first guy come staggering back saying: Pick death! Pick death! But the guy doesn't believe him so he picks unga bunga. And then the same thing happens to him. Then the third guy wakes up and see the guy staggering back saying: Pick death! So the guy figues that what the heck? And he picks death and then the chief says: Death! By unga bunga!

It's actually "bunga, bunga!" But let's not get into a technical discussion at this point. The most important thing, and certainly what we all agree upon, is Mesa Sucks!

Mesa will survive this but they will eventually die a slow death because no airline will take them again. Delta is going to get rid of them. UA just tried to send them a message by not renewing their Crj2 while giving the flying to ASA and Xjet, USairways has no choice right now but their time will come. I see either a merger or a Mesa garage sale in the future.

You must not be paying attention. UAL did not renew mesa's agreement because Sky West wrote a $118 million (plus) check. Express Jet agreed to provide the service at below cost AND gave up 20% of the company in warrants.

IT WAS NOT BECAUSE OF PERFORMANCE.

Why would Sky West and Express Jet do this? New accounting rules would require what is known as an impairment charge for aircraft leases not under agreement. These charges would result is significant losses and declines in stock values.

You must not be much of a student of regional airline history, because if you were you would know that once Mesa emerges from BK with a clean balance sheet and the lowest costs in the industry, both UAL and Delta will sieze the moment and fight to sign up Mesa for new aircraft and contract extensions. Why will they do this? Good question, thanks for asking. They will do this because of what is know in CPA's (capacity purchase agreemens) as MFN's (most favored nation clauses) Folks, this is the ultimate whip saw. If Delta and UAL get lower costs from MESA then they can get credits toward the MFN from every other Regional partner these credits are worth millions every month.

The cycle continues.

Good day all

As you said, why would UA go through all the trouble? No doubt money was involved but at the end of the day it's also the product. It's kind of hard to get from point a to b when there aren't enough crews for the already broken and dirty CRJs. As far as Delta, they could probably do away with 20 ERJs but even if they still need them it's probably cheaper to do it in in house with ASA,Comair,Mesaba. I really see Mesa as maybe a UA only carrier, US will definitely pull out in 2012 at least in CLT.

Little bird says read!!!

You have to get out of that dash now..

Little bird is wrong just confirmed with dispatch all 5 birds are in Hawaii and all are in service. Clean and green. Schedule was reduced to accomodate lower demand. Average fares are up 15% year over year.

You are still dealing in ancientr history. Mesa hasn't had crew shortage problems for over two years. THE UNITED DECISION WAS BASED ON PERFORMANCE.

I am curious why you think US will definately pull out in 2012? 38 86 seat airplanes is a lot of lift.
